Fujikura Orochi shafts - impressions?

I've been trying out a JPX 800 HD demo club with the LR Orochi 60g, and damn, it's a very fine shaft. Feels solid yet flexible - really pleasant to hit.

 

I wouldn't mind getting some of these shafts. Is this the same as the EXS R2 (LR) iron shaft at 60g and 3.8 torque?

The Orochi LR in the Mizuno irons is 60g and 4 torque - pretty close.

Interested in impressions of this shaft, both Orochi and EXS - might also be an idea for hybrids.

I have these shafts (stiff, plus 1/2") in my new Mizuno jpx 825 pro. Excellent! I super love the low vibration, but also the weight is there...not too light. The flight is exactly what I like, a bit mid-low and the spin seems to match my old rifle shafts. [b]Longer?[/b] a very little bit, but about the same. Consistent? Yes, very. [b]Go after it/Lay off a bit?[/b] Both seem to be spot on, and frankly,if I need to truly hammer one, I now just go up a club! But yes, the gaps can be measured and are very repeatable. For me the vibration relief, and the "sameness" is a definite recommendation. I'm a 5/6 handicap... mid swing 7 iron is 155 for me with this setup. 6 iron 165. Key word is repeatable, and that may have much to do with the 825 pro head...

Love this shaft and am shocked that the fitting process yielded these.

I would agree with Wes. I've just finished my second round with these Mizuno JPX 825 pro irons with the Fujikura Orachi (+1 inch, regular) shafts. The reason I switched over from my Mizuno MP-53 irons with Dynalite regular shafts was the vibration control. My hands and elbows were complaining after a season of range sessions and over 75 rounds. Let me tell you... as a 2 handicap, these JPX 825 pros with the Fujikura shafts are more than the equal to the 53s and the steel shafts. And the vibration is significantly lower with the graphite. The Orachi shafts are 20% more expensive than steel but 80% less vibration. Worth it in my book.

I have a JPX800HD 6 iron in both Orochi LR and Exsar IS4 Lite Regular. I've played a whole set in both - my brother has the Orochi LR shafts in his 800HDs and I have Exsar IS4s in a set of MX100s.

I prefer the Exsar shafts. More responsive, more lively, more feedback. The Orochi shafts are very smooth but quite bland, with muted feedback. Not much life in them, but they do perform well.
