where to play in wales?

We are going to wales for a week in summer playing golf and there are a few courses nearby. we are playing 3 different rounds amd wondered if anyone could advise me on these courses? which is a must and which to aviod

I've played the Marriott at St. Pierre and quite enjoyed it. Two courses to choose from makes it worth an overnight deal. Monmouth and Monmouthshire are absolute pants IMO. Can't comment on the rest as I haven't played them.
If I were making the trip to Wales, I'd probably go for Tenby which is a gem.

you have to play the Royal Porthcawl if your going over to wales!!
nicest course that side of the UK
as above monmouth courses not great at all. st. pierre depending on time of year can be very nice
wood lake park i didnt enjoy at all and havent played the others, or heard any reviews

I was thinking about a return trip to Wales myself, but having already played Celtic Manor wanted to try something else. I know Royal Porthcawl is an absolute must, what about the two courses at The Vale Resort--The Lakes and the Wales National? They look beautiful and it seems as if you can get some really nice stay and play deals at the resort.

If you are in the vicinity of RP, Southerndown is very good too and Pennard is good fun. Pyle and Kenfig is alright, although I got totally drowned when I played it, so I'm a bit biased against it

pretty much in this order as you head over the bridge, personally i would forget celtic manor, the Vale and start your journey at royal Porthcawl, Southerndown, ashburnham, pennard, Tenby then on upto cardigan.

great stretch of links courses. if at the end of that you haven't enjoyed yourself, head to the nearest pro shop hand your clubs over and promise the pro you will never even think of touching a single golf club again, such would be the shame.
