RBZ and RBZ TOUR- difference?

Recommended Posts

I understand that the "tour" version probably comes with a high end shaft. Apartr from that is there any other difference between these two heads?

Sorry if already discussed. In which case please point me to the thread.

Thanks in advance.

... The Stage 2 heads are identical but internally weighted differently. The standard is a slight draw bias and the Tour is neutral. The Tour shaft is also a made for Matrix 6Q3 but upgraded shaft compared to the non tour. I actually like the made for 6Q3 very much, which surprised me.

If you are talking about the original RBZ and RBZ tour models then I would liken the differences as a shallow face driver (RBZ) and a deep face driver (RBZ Tour) both models were available in a TP verision, which basically gives you the upgraded shaft. I believe that it was the Matrix Ozik HD6 versus the Xcon stock shaft. I also believe that the RBZ came with the Xcon-5 and the RBZ Tour came with the X-con 6 stock shafts. Also the RBZ came in uneven lofts (ie) 9.5, 10.5 whereas the RBZ Tour came in even lofts (ie) 9 and 10 degree. The RBZ head shape was more like the R11 and the RBZ Tour was shaped more like the Superfast 2.0.

Personally, I prefered the more traditional look of the RBZ over the RBZ Tour, and it was a little more forgiving.

This is more or less true.. The only thing is the RBZ Tour did come in 9.5 and 10.5 lofts, I have a 10.5 Tour TP.

To me the biggest difference is the shafts.. I hit all three when I was buying my driver (regular, tour, and tour TP)... The regular and tour models had the same shaft but the slight changes as mentioned to the club head. The shaft on the TP felt a lot better IMO.

Now if you're looking at the Stage 2's.. the Tour models allow for loft adjustment vs the regular model that doesn't in the fairway and hybrids.

Original RBZ
*Regular RBZ came in 9.5*, 10.5*, & HL, stock shaft was a made for Matrix Xcon 5
*RBZ Tour came in 9* and 10.5* (deeper face, higher CG closer to the face, smaller footprint at address compared to the regular head, similar shape to the Burner SF 2.0TP), stock shaft was a made for Matrix XCon 6
*TP stock shaft was a real Matrix HD6 /w TM graphics with upcharge shaft options

RBZ Stage 2
*Regular comes in 9.5*, 10.5*, & HL, stock shaft is the Fujikura Rocketfuel 50
*Tour comes in 9.5*, 10.5*, head is the same shape as the regular only with a more neutral/fade weight bias vs draw bias in the regular head, stock shaft is a made for Matrix 6Q3
*TP stock shaft is a real Matrix 7Q3 /w TM graphics with upcharge shaft options

Thank you all. I believe Sterm319 is closest to the truth! Why can't TM put out a definitive chart spelling out the differences....
