New Fathers Day Tradition

Today I decided to play my classic set which included my Dad's MT Tourney woods, VIP Sand Wedge, and his Bert Dargie Won Putt putter. This is the first time I've done this on Father's Day since my Dad died in 1981. It was a great way to spend the day with him and plan to do it every Father's Day from now on.

2014 Update:

I played Father's Day again this year with my Vintage bag which includes my Father's 1967 MT Tourney Persimmons and my 1972 MT Tourney split sole irons. As a new twist I decided to walk the old front nine of the course my Dad introduced me to the game at 50 years ago. Loaded the Burton and the Mac's on to the Speed Cart (lost the Bag Boy years ago) walked those nine holes remembering walking those fairways with Jake.

After a few warm ups with the driver I hit a few acceptable drives and actually hit the irons very well. Every time I do this it reminds me of how precise one had to be with those little headed clubs to get a good result.

I also find it good way to reflect on and thank the man who introduced me to this game as a 10 year old.
