Welcome. Where do you play?
[/quote]
I am either at Sevierville or River Islands on Sundays. We have a group of 26 that play on Wed. that is completely pot luck, pending on who wins (handicapped knock it around group) and either at Sevierville or Creekside Plantation Driving range on sat and Mon.

I live in Carolina and have been meaning to get back over there and play River Island. How is it these days? I loved it years ago when I played it.

Is Sevierville worth playing while I am there, or spend all the time at River Island?

River Island is in great shape. They renovated the greens to that miniverde a couple of years ago and they are very nice, but still just a bit stiff, only time will help that though. The new management is fantastic, gps on the carts to keep track of pace of play, not for yardage purposes. Sevierville is also in amazing shape, both 18's are playing very well. I prefer the River Course, as it is a bit longer playing 7100 yds, compared to the Highlands Course that plays in at around 6300 yds. You can't go wrong either way honestly.

I am going to be in N.C. at the end of August to play Sequoya National and Smoky Mountain, for a friends drinking too much tournament that we do every year. Have you played either, and If you have, is there anything good to know about?

Yes. Go somewhere else!!

However, I assume you have already made the plans. I have never played Smoky, but I know quite a few that have......once.

Sequoyah is a playable course for a good player, however it is very penal. I can't imagine a higher handicap enjoying a round there.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

HAHAHA, I have indeed made plans already, Smoky Mountain looks to be marginal at best from what I have seen, Sequoya looks like a really nice track though. I was just curious as if to leave my driver in TN and play target tee shots all weekend. Played it at Etowah (Sp??) Valley last year. Wasnt my favorite place to play, but having 3 nines was really nice.

As I said, I haven't played Smoky, so I can't answer that one. You can bomb away on many holes at Sequoyah, but don't miss it. It really could be a decent course with proper management. Taken one by one, I don't really despise any holes there, just the combination of them all.

I think you will be longing for Etowah. :taunt::taunt:

I enjoy visiting family down in Knoxville, just got back from a week vacation there. Was able to play all 27 at Lambert Acres (before all the rain had set in) and really enjoyed it. Been about 5 years since i've played anywhere in TN before that.

Was really hoping to play River Island as I've heard great things, but the weather didn't cooperate and I only got in that one round. Definitely hoping to get back and playing a few courses down there.

Welcome to WRX!

Yea the weather has been a finicky hag this spring/summer, everywhere around here is soggy and wet lol. It is a shame that you didn't get to venture over to River Islands, it is in great shape. Lambert was is good shape last time I was out there, of course that was 4 or 5 months ago.

You never did give us a review. Or are you still trying to finish your round at Sequoyah? :swoon:

I completely agree!! I really wish we would have pulled off that GA upset now. I couldn't believe the comments Spurrier said before the game.

HAHA, I apologize. Sequoya had mulitiple holes washed out, so we played all 4 days at Smoky Mountain Country Club. I was honestly very impressed. I parked my truck at the Condo on the 11th hole and never used it again the entire weekend. Mike and the rest of the staff really took care of us. We took golf carts anywhere we needed to go. Pack a flashlight (driving a golf cart around a Mountain Golf course at night, after 1 or 20 drinks, is very intimidating.) The golf course....It is resort golf, short course with plush fairways so that the ball sits high. I prefer a tight fairway, but hey, that was the worst I found to complain about so I think it was a win.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
