I was thinking about your trip yesterday as I watched some of the Womens Open. Can't believe you'll be there in about a month. Really excited to hear the post trip report. It will call for a get together round on the Eastern Shore afterward. You'll think that's a gentle breeze after your trip.

Yes, it will.
At least I can keep occupied because we are moving the weekend after we get back. So the house will be completely packed up before we leave.

And, just found out this weekend that a buddy will be in Carnoustie for the big Am tournament at the same time. We're trying to figure out if we can work out a round, or at least a pint.

that's great you won, goes to show you never know, a few years back my wife bought a $20 ticket could either win a big screen tv or paid super bowl trip to dallas for steelers & green bay
low & behold phone rang at 7p thurs before the super bowl saying we won (she) we left that Friday on a charter flight to dallas for the superbowl--a once in a lifetime trip to super bowl-allexpenses paid--goes to show you--enter these contests--you just never know !

The Old Course Hotel is fantastic, I just stayed there for the first time on Saturday with my wife as a treat for our 10th wedding anniversary. I was very lucky to get a deal from a friend who works for the Hotel and he got us in The Old Course Suite.

You'll have a great time with all the courses, the Jubilee is the toughest of the 3 your playing. The Old and Kingsbarns are very fair and you can score well if you stay out of the fairway bunkers.

I'll keep an eye out for you as I'll be up on the Sunday as I'm up for a comp on the Castle, I'll buy you a beer in the New Club if you're around.

It just dawned on me that we'll be in Ireland during the Walker Cup. Guess I'll have to don the Merican colors that Sunday! (Already wearing orange and maroon for my Hokies on Saturday.) Should be good viewing in a pub.

One last "home round" tomorrow, then it's go time. I've checked the weather for Thursday at the Old Course every two hours lately. I know. I know. It changes every 5 minutes. That's the fun of it! Tuesday it showed 64 and sunny. Wednesday it showed 61 and cloudy. Thursday it showed 58 and rain all day. Now it shows 64 and sprinkles. Gonna be interesting!

Packing up today for the flight tomorrow. I think I'm prepared for the weather...I mean I have a brand new rain jacket and pants as well as a wind vest, long and short sleeve sweaters and even shorts (for under rain pants or the possibility that one round might actually be in the 70's!) All three cameras are charged up and ready. I'll be taking the laptop, but not going to be diligently posting, but might sneak something here and there. I will definitely update when I get back. There will be plenty of pics and hopefully good stories!

All checked in at airport. Chilling out after a funky week. Ac went up Tuesday n water pump pressure went to zero yesterday. Got the water fixed but no Ac last night meant a hot one.

Just over 24 hours till the jubilee.

The Jubilee is a great track. Proud of myself for missing every bunker until the 18th. Wind is a killer, especially at 35mph.

Kingsbarns is an awesome piece of land. It's hard to believe that it's less than 15 years old.

Standing on the 18th tee of the Old at night looking at town is truly surreal feeling. Tackle the Old in 7hours!
