ENDO Forged in Japan or elsewhere?

can someone list, or try to list, which companies or lines within a company still forge in Japan?

 

Of course many companies, Japanese companies, have moved/are moving/considering moving operations offshore - many operate factories in China. for example, read that miura and fourteen have done this - even if only a couple models within it line up.

 

Now I am sure the list is long, but just curious based on your knowledge which are still forging out of Japan?

 

not meant to be a discussion of tour only products...

According to their website, Endo's corporate hdqtrs are in Japan, but their manufacturing is done mostly in Thailand, with some in Vietnam. Miura, as Flog referenced, is in house, but OnOff, Yamaha, and the other JDM clubs may be outsourced. Doesn't make a difference, as long as qc is strictly maintained.

Even just a couple years ago all the Endo irons had "Japan Forged" directly under Epon. Now they simply have Endo Forged under Epon. Makes me think straight out of the Thailand forge.

anyone know where honma gets their forged heads?

Honma used to have their own forging house decades
ago. from what i heard they outsourced the beres line
to china and the honma to endo. i cant confirm this though
but ive heard this from several people.

have one of their 717 blades as a test club... i like the set up. she actually feels like the srixon 925 blade, which is an endo forged. only hit her once yesterday, but i like the set up she has... least offset i have found, nice thin topline. impressed

Interesting. It was just what I overheard once that they are considering moving some operations to china. Nonetheless I didn't convey this well in my original post. Just wanted to start a forging conversation not limited to one brand. Miura was just an example.

Sad to say but I'm not very good at searching or efficiently using the search function.

Can u post a link with a list of companies that's still forge in Japan, please?

which endo products are you referring? usually japanese brand state their production are made in where... in golf club you will see something like this in their ad

head made in japan
cover made in china

if they stated it made in japan it surely made by endo japan if its endo forging.

My information comes from their website. I have no other source, but I reported what they say.

if the company doesn't state that information, i doubt their credibility , and it can be JDM but not made in japan... JDM can also be a china product. or other country.

and lets be truthful, just because it is made in china, doesnt mean an inferior product... they can produce anything in the world at whatever quality level requested. u want cheap, u just need to specify... u want an iphone imbedded in your driver, just need to pay.

it was '01 & i spent 2 weeks touring manufacturing facilities... siemens, nokia, etc... as nice as one would find in germany, us, japan, etc. very well funded, very serious equipment, very much high quality. pretty sure they can make a top spec golf club.

just maybe there is one factory that do all the work on making golf clubs for many brands in china... but in JDM world we just love JAPAN made as simple as that.. we pay it premium we want it from JAPAN not china.

even chinese people in china and hongkong loves JAPAN product. THEY KNOW.

So if you took machines and personnel from one to another product still be different?...steel doesnt know where or who is doing it...

All about quality control....there are some poorly made japanese stuff as well....specs, QC is only thing steel knows.....country is just piece of land

just bout everything is made in china....all major manufactrs are producing out of china....some of it is crap, some isnt

just a golf club...not like their building rocket with binch moving parts...

use good metal, forge properly and have solid design and you will have a good clubhead....players irons and MB havnt changed really for along time....they already have it down. ...so just as desctibed above to have final product that is quality....

I just game mizuno....great great quality at reasonable price....no factory switch and forging house only does mizuno. ...hard to beat even bu JDM standards

maybe except the yoro line, mizuno seems to be having some qc issues lately so it's hard to say they're up to jdm standards.

One of the top Clubmakers in Singapore visited the Endo factory in Thailand.Said it was AMAZING,state of the art,complete control from raw billets to finished heads.

All procedures performed in House including chroming,sand blast painting etc
