OMG! CBS's coverage is driving me ;) I watched for a couple hours and saw a total of about 5-6 shots combined of Mickelson and Furyk. Great coverage of Danny Gans though... shoot me now.

Agreed.

I know the presence of celebs is a big selling point and they're bound to be included in the coverage, but it is becoming a bit galling..

Between Gans and George Lopez's ostentatious displays (usually after holing a putt for a bogey) I'm being driven to distraction. What does Lopez actually do? I know I'm in the UK and haven't seen his much lauded show, but it must be like chinese water torture.

Thank God the cut's due and we should see decent golf soon, rather than the oh-so-original talking to the animal headcover gag...

I'll never see Danny Gans show in Las Vegas simply because of what I've seen of him this week at the AT&T. The phrase "no-talent @$$ clown" comes to mind.

I knew it was time to change the channel when he did a Dean Martin impersonation. ;)

Completely agree and who was it that said the 16th at the TPC of Scottsdale was over the top last week? I'll take Scottsdale EVERY day of the week compared to this AT&T farse.

I didn't care for the coverage. Watching someone play to the crowd is alright, but watching them focus on Gans play to the camera is harsh. First. I don't think he is funny. Second. I never heard of him until today and they talk like he is the funniest guy that ever lived. McCord and Feherity are more funny than Gann.

Here Gan's Bio. Everyone says he's funny???? ;)

He’s the “Entertainer of the Year” in Las Vegas, and his show is the hottest ticket in town. He’s being called the finest singer-comedian-impressionist-actor in the business today, by entertainment critics and his peers alike and audiences of all ages go wild over his award winning show. Who is he? He’s Danny Gans.

Gans hadn’t planned to be an entertainer. His boyhood dream was to play third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he was, in fact, drafted by the Kansas City Royals, while he was still attending high school in California. Sadly, an injury forced him to decline the offer-but, sometimes, opportunity knocks more than once.

While in college, Gans turned down another draft offer, this one from the Chicago White Sox. Two years later, his life long dream came true as he signed that contract and was sent to the minor leagues to start his career as a professional athlete. But, not long after it all came to a crashing halt as a career-ending injury turned his life upside-down.

With love and encouragement from friends and family, Gans shifted his focus from baseball to entertainment. He had been blessed with a marvelous singing voice, the ability to make people laugh and a rare presence that would manifest itself in his new career.

Gans spent 15 years traveling throughout the United States, working at his craft and perfecting a vast repertoire of impressions. At the same time he became one of the most sought-after performers in the prestigious corporate world, often playing to stadium-sized crowds for major, international companies such as IBM and McDonald's and was the darling of the Fortune 500 list. Fellow entertainers such as Bill Cosby and Natalie Cole raved about Gans, and it became apparent that he was destined to be a star.

In 1995 Danny was starring on Broadway in his one man show. However, between New York and 200 concert dates a year, he found himself longing to be with his wife and three children. So, when the opportunity to move his show to Las Vegas presented itself, where he could settle down to a life with his family, Gans knew it was the right move.

In doing so, Gans’ commitment to his family had been doubly rewarded; the family is happy to call Las Vegas home, and Gans has taken the town by storm. On top of record-breaking crowds and consistently sold out shows, Gans has been showered with accolades and awards. He’s the talk of the town, and his name is on the lips of visitors even before they arrive in Las Vegas.

Gans is an integral part of the Las Vegas community, too. He recently hosted the 4th Annual Danny Gans Invitational Golf Tournament. More than $75,000 was raised for Boys Town of Nevada and the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association, and plans for the 5th annual, star-studded event are underway. He also funds the Danny Gans Golf Academy which allows children to learn how to play golf for free. In addition, he is involved with the Lili Claire Foundation performing annually to raise research money for William's Syndrome.

Gans also finished recording his first album, on Sony’s Epic label. Award-winning producer, Michael O’Martian produced Gans’ inaugural album which climbed to #19 on the Christian pop charts.

Completing the picture of success, Gans just celebrated six years of sold-out shows in his 1,250-seat theater at the Mirage, and was again named "Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year" for the 9th time.

He may not be playing third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he's hitting home runs nightly in the theatre which bears his name. Danny Gans is truly living a dream come true

You're all right. He IS NOT FUNNY. The fact that people pay to watch him is beyond me. It seems like every time he hits a shot he has to do an impression. Watching the last couple of days I have seen them multiple times. Forget Gans and get to the golf, even if it is Kenny G because he actually has some game. I don't like the going trend this year for golf coverage. To say the least, it sucks. Usually, I fall asleep after watching for a couple hours. This week it has been so quiet because I have to mute for fear of listening to Danny Gans 20 minutes at a time that I am falling asleep a half an hour into the coverage. What is it coming to? First, no more International here in CO and now this? I guess I can go enjoy the slowly melting snow.

Honestly who wants to turn the golf on and watch George Lopez play golf? It is torture. The guy is not funny at all. As for Gans anytime he comes on i change the channel. I turn the golf on to watch the best of the best not too see George Lopez's swing get broken down by peter Kostis. Awful just awful.. ;)

Coverage for sure sucks...but anyone who thinks Danny Gans is a "no tallent a** clown" is just not well informed and/or doesnt know who he is and his act. He might not have been interesting, to you, but he has more talent than most could dream. His show in Vegas is awesome! Not to mention it would be hard to make the MMMMMillions of dollars he has being a no talent a** clown...dontcha think?

I could care less how funny or talanted he is and could def. care less how much he makes. There are a lot of very talanted performers there this week. The prob. I had was that there was a hell of a tourney goin' on at one of the most historic sites in golf with names like Mickelson, Furyk and Singh on the first page of the leader board and the coverage is dominated by Gans??? Now I just need to figure out CBSs angle. They must own a share of the casino he performs at??? or Gans has some "questionable" pics. of CBS honco Les Moonves???

Showing the celebs. is expected, just don't let them DOMINATE the entire broadcast! And oh yea, it would be amazing if we could see more than two shots between commercials. The whole dang broadcast is nothing more than a commercial for CBS. Do they really need to show that many. -rant over 4 now-

I agree with the quality of the coverage, very bad, only watched 10 minutes and switched channels... I guess the PGA tour does not care about showing golf to golfers, but only how many commercials they can add in a ten minute time slot.... When you combine the Golf Channel and the other stations that air golf, man do we ever get poor quality to view.... All the PGA tour is doing is losing fans.

hey all:yes the coverage is frustrating to watch, but the celebs are the draw this week.also the event is played on three courses so that may also make it hard to keep up with the pro's.just my 0.02 cents worth

My opinion:

The Celeb's aren't the draw, they are there because of the Pro's. People tune in every week to watch the pro's, if there was some celebrity event with all these hack's, they would get no ratings. People tune in to watch the pro's, and are bombarded with these unfunny chops.

Oh good, I thought it was just me that was totally unimpressed with the celebrity crowd who feel that they are doing all of us a favor via a showcase of the golf skills. Give me a break! Who was Costner trying to impersonate, Walter Hagen?

The worst in my opinion was Chris Berman not only was his golf swing painful to watch but he comes across as an obnoxious overbearing loudmouth.

Do all the celebritys find it necessary to impersonate ChiChi......how original!!

Can't wait for the celebrity crowd to be gone!

i don't care if he made a blind kid see......he was still annoying as hell!! people in vegas will pay money to see somebody juggle turds if ya told em it was good. it was just overkill with this guy on every 4.7 seconds. is it me or did he walk like he had a wedge stuck in his rear?

So he's in the same league as Paris Hilton, Anna nicole Smith, etc..., and people wonder what's wrong with this country???

Most of his impersonations were off, just my 2 cents.
