Salish Cliffs in Washington

Anyone played this course? Me and some friends are gOing up to play it next weekend before a scramble at TPC Snoqualmie and I was curious what others thought?!

Very resort style...nice layout and great greens (last year at least) price and distance are the only issues

That's what I figured. We got a pretty good deal, I think $60 including cart and range balls. They might have punched recently so that could be why. Still excited!

Any thoughts on how Salish Cliffs compares to Gold Mountain/Olympic?

Looks like it will be Chambers Bay plus one of these two on our trip to Bandon.

We'll probably play it on the way back so would like to finish with a memorable experience.

Salish is a better course, but GM Oly is a better value. Salish is a top 5 public course in the state, GM is top 10 (all in my mind, people may vehemently disagree). You're not going to walk off of Olympic and question your decision at all, it's that good of a course, but if given 10 rounds between the 2 without price being a factor, give me 7 Salish, 3 Oly. Gold Mountain has the benefit of having 36 obviously, so if you aren't golfed out by the end of your trip, you can probably play both for the price of a single round on Salish. If it's a matter of Salish or GM Cascade, take Salish all the way. If it's between Salish and GM Oly, decide if you want to spend the extra ~$50 and if you don't, playing Oly won't be a poor choice at all.

When I first moved to Seattle in 2006, I played all the courses on the Olympic peninsula. Gold Mt, McCormick Woods, Trophy Lake, Whitehorse, and Salish once it opened in 2011...now I only play Gold Mt- Olympic, as its prob one of my top 3 faves in WA state. It’s to the point where I have never even played the Cascade course at Gold Mt! Not knocking any of the other tracks, but The Olympic is just that good, imo

dont know when u r playing but also consider that winter golf in the PNW can be tough - Olympic is playable but def expect 0 yards in roll on tee balls.

over the winter (nov-April) I pretty much exclusively play Chambers and the Home Course in DuPont- both have similar terrain (sandy, gravel glacial till on a west facing bank of the Puget Sound) And drain very well. chambers drains better (it was originally a sand/gravel quarry) but The Home Course is still playable.

Appreciate the comment. Planning to arrive there around April 21 then down to Bandon and back say April 30. So from what you are saying Chambers Bay is the one to play first then either GM or SC last when the fairways might have dried out.

I spent a bit of time around Seattle/ Vancouver back in the day and well recall the regular rainfall.
