Geotech drivers?

I've recently had my first taste of JDM golf equipment. I'm not 100% happy with my driver and took a look at some.JDM models last night. Majority of them are great looking heads, but very costly. A couple stood out to me as ones I liked and could afford. Both of which were Geotech heads.

 

The standouts to me:

2013 GT limited

2012 GT420

Prototype rf700

 

Any insight on any or the company as a whole?

The company is solid and been around for a long time.

The equipment runs the gamut, from budget to high end. Some of their forged iron heads are very good.

Budget driver or fairway heads are going to be a little heavy. You get what you pay for.

There is a ranking on their site that shows the most popular products. You might want to stick to the top three popular models. Other people have already done testing for you...

I have a nonconforming geotech rf700 proto w 10.5 loft. it has a Fuji zcom stiff in it. very long!

Rf700 proto here also. 10.5, has a fairly strong trajectory with good roll. Feel is very solid with a medium ping sound at impact. I have mine shafted with a Matrix 7x3 white tie.

yeah, was surprised that the launch was a touch lower than other true 10.5 heads I've had...but good roll out, I course is so soft this season it has gotten zero play... not a huge fan of the sound but it's not too bad....

for the money it's a good value, I would put it a big cut below epon or ryoma though, you can tell its just not the same.

I'd like a Romaro Hx460 gold or one of the new Trplx drivers but I'm probably going to have to pick up a used one some time. I still wouldnt mind trying another Geotech maybe one of the 460 heads. For the money they are nice.

I have often looked at Geotech equipment and from what I can remember, may of their woods are made in China. Irons and wedges tend to be made in Japan. Recommend you double check with whoever you choose to purchase from.

You say a touch lower, but can you compare it to other drivers? I tend to prefer lower lofted drivers and am wary of a 10.5.

It more like a 9 degree to me. CG must be higher in this head than their other heads . If you go to tour spec golf they normally recommend buying one loft higher than you normally play but that's due to us clubs being so far off the stated loft. I think the case with the rf700 is that its a rounder deep face head that just produces a lower ball flight.
