finally wore out my old one....

well it finally happened i wore out the top of my Hoofer3.

ive used ping bags almost exclusively since i got my first k56. ive also used a J-bag but when something structural inside the bag broke i got the hoofer 3.two yeas ago. I have always liked ping bags but i dont trust the retractable strap since i know the extreme was not their best effort when it comes to bags.

im very interested in the new vantage but im still worried about the retractable strap... im just looking for experience with the new bag and if you WRXer's rcomend anything else for someone who carries 95% of the time.

goto sonartec.com click on accessories. check out the carry bag for only $90. they must be blowin these out. i just got mine and it is AWESOME. 7 compartments. my scotty now has its own compartement. The zippers and pockets are perfect. and it weighs around 3 pounds.

just don't buy it if your in NorCal. i want to be the only one carrying one this season LOL

Vantage is the way to go! I have never had any problems with the retractable strap...I don't know why you would. You could also check ebay for Hoofer 3's and J bags. I know new ones are still floating around.

Take your Hoofer 3 to your local golf shop or pro at your club. he can call up PING and send it out for a nice little tune up. It costs $10 bucks and they replace the straps top and hoof to new original pieces and it returns in 3 weeks good as new. you also have to cover shipping but that only like 10 bucks as well. I did it with mine and it is actually better than when i first got it. They also dont replace it with felt, instead they replace it with this new waffle stuff which is much more durable.

the retractable straps on the ping vantage and even xtreme are a great idea. They do get not as "retractable" after awhile but still go all the way up. I used a ping along time ago then switched to a titleist so it would "match" my clubs. I made the switch to my ping hoofer xtreme and have been satisfied ever since. IMHO ping has the best bags out there, nothing better. If a vantage doesnt suit you look at the Xtremes, just as good as the vantage.

goose i already tried contacting PING about getting the top replaced but they told me that they no longer have the parst to fix the hoofer 3 (i contacted PING canada about mine since thats where i am)

once again any info/ comments are helpful.
