R1 vs. Exotics XCG6 or 7?

Toying with picking up a new driver to pit against my current Titleist 913 D3. Have read mixed reviews about R1, but thinking about giving it a try since it can now be had in black and the price is right. Was looking at Edwin Watts ARC and noticed Tour Edge Exotics XCG6 placing in most categories. I know this forum loves TEE fairways, but what about their drivers? I was checking out the TEE website and the new XCG7 looks pretty sweet, too. Love the adjustability option of R1 and XCG7. Prices on XCG6 are pretty good.

So...what are some experiences you guys have had with these? I've read that R1 is long and sounds bad. Some love it, some hate it. Can anyone compare it with the TEE drivers?

Ok...

So anyway...I went to GolfSmith today and picked up a used R1 (white version) for a net of $80. Looking forward to trying it out. Still not crazy about the graphics but can paint it if I end up playing it. They had a XCG6 but it was priced new and out of my range.

I have always used TEE Drivers. Just my opinion here but TEE's Drivers are great. There isn't anything about them that I don't like. I would put them up against any Driver on the market. Its a great club.

Used the Exotics Proto driver years ago along with the original exotics ironwood hybrids, both great clubs. I've been eyeballing the XCG6 driver as of late, also waiting to hear some more comparison reviews on it along with the XCG7. Currently using the 9064ls and it's great but looking for a nice adjustable driver.

I have never hit any driver that could knock my old XCG3 out of my bag. Maybe the head/shaft combination just "fits" me. I tried the XCG5 and hated the tinny sound. Haven't hit the XCG6 yet.

the XCG6 w the stock matrix black tie is awesome man
i hit it against everything last year and got awesome numbers w it

still more sure why i didnt get it, but its really good

I've played the r1 and now play the XCG7 beta. Unfortunately the beta has to stiff of a shaft for me right now. I have the stiff version coming in this week. I'd say they are close to the same thing, but the tee sounds and feels much better. I really think all drivers are pretty close to each other nowadays. I think it's more about forgiveness.

Unfortunately, no. I went from work and was not dressed to swing a club. I'm thinking the XCG6 prices will drop even more when the 7 rolls out. I will try to demo on my next trip to GSmith, though.

The Beta looks pretty sweet. I've always liked the "smaller" heads, which is why I play the D3. What shaft do you have in your Beta? I need something that launches a little higher, which is why I like the adjustable drivers. I'm playing my D3 at 11.25*.

[/quote]I have a red tie x flex, but need a stiff flex.I think the white tie is the highest launching, then red, and next black.
