Anyone a current member at DuPont C.C. in Delaware??

Recommended Posts

I am in NJ but am only 30 mins from DCC. I have never heard much about the club and the last info on here is from 2015 during a time the course was trading ownership. I just saw a Instagram post talking about a HUGE practice facility thats in the works with both indoor and outdoor range with Trackman. as well as a crazy short game area. Also seems to be three courses. I fit there young adult category so fees are 50% and dues are 2/3 of normal membership rate. Just wanted to hear peoples opinions on the club or if anyone knows any more details. I called and left a voicemail today so hoping to hear back. Place looks amazing.

I live about 30 mins to the south / west in Maryland. I pass by there a lot. I play at the public courses in the area Delcastle / Deerfield / Ed Oliver / etc.

I’ll have to look into DuPont. Especially if they have trackman.

In the past I was able to get on to DuPont CC as a non member. Of course this was 1990-1991. I've played DuPont CC about a half dozen times back then. Definitely well worth it. Best of luck.

Member here, how can I help? Club was bought this year by a DuPont family member and a former DuPont executive. They are sinking $18 MILLION into the club to make it a broader family oriented sports club. The first act is to move the driving range from a car ride away to across the street from the clubhouse and build one of the top practice facilities I think they said on the east coast. I have seen the plans. Includes an indoor facility with trackman bays and a bar. Short game area with huge putting green with two speeds, plenty of bunkers and large chipping area. Range will be moving to the 18 hole executive course which will be reduced to nine or twelve holes. They will start construction in November and expect completion in june.

We then have two courses main courses. DuPont, where they used to play the LPGA championship. Redone about ten or so years ago it is fairly open with a lot of huge bunkers and fast, contoured greens. Nemours is the older course with a lot more trees, tighter fairways, shorter, and smaller medium speed greens. I actually prefer Nemours but both are fun.

There are 26 tennis courts including 6 indoor. I will play a little tennis in the winter. Next year they are building a huge fitness facility plus 3 swimming pools.

They are really looking to add members to pay for all of this. I think they already added 2 or 3 hundred. They have also started to rebuild the bar and restaurant this week and are looking to improve the food and service aspects.

Thank You so much for the info! How are tee times? Again most of the info i could find was back from 2015 but The high number of members was mentioned several times and guy made it seem like prime time tee times are hard to get?

This was also one of my concerns joining after my prior club closed. Sure, it is not an exclusive club where you can show up at anytime without a tee time and play. But I have never had a problem with a little flexibility on the weekend. They run a lottery for weekend tee times. I often play around 11am on a Saturday or Sunday and never have a problem. Looking at this Sunday tee sheet I see on DuPont eight open times, available for a foursome, before 11am. And on Nemours I see twelve. But if you want to play and do not have a tee time, head over to the executive course Montchanin. You can make a tee time there but almost no one does.

And if you want to get a quick nine in after work on a weekday, never a problem.

I think for the price, the quality and variety of golf, and the future plans it is a good deal.

I've played both courses many times and like them both. The older course is fun and shorter but still challenging. The main course is fun as well. The 18th hole is mediocre but overall it's a very good to excellent golf course. The facilities were in need of an update and my friend who is a current member said things were still progressing. My guess is that it will be a few years before everything comes together. Even without updated facilites and practice area it's still a great little club with two very good golf courses.
