Ping Eye wedges

How do you rate these wedges against current options? In terms of used ones I mostly see Eye 2 and Eye 2+, though there's also the XG.

Eye 2: PW 50.5, SW 57.5, LW 61

Eye 2+: PW 48.5, SW 53, LW 58

How would you rate the Eye 2 against the Eye 2+? Any general comments?

The Eye2 is the classic sole grind with the wide-ish sole, extreme heel grind, cupped middle. Works great on flops, sand.. this is the version that is copied by Cally, TM etc. XG also has this. The Eye2+ grind is more similar to the TS grind. Narrow sole, forward bound with very high actual bounce, low effective bounce.

I like the Eye 2 better, for me it just seems easier to set up behind the ball. I think the Eye 2 SW is the easiest to hit wedge from traps and deep grass .

I'm a long time user of various Eye 2 wedges. I like them out of familiarity but I don't think they are any better than numerous other options today. They may even be worse when considering face milling, etc that is on new wedges.

I just sold on my BeCu Eye 2 set of irons which included the 50.5 degree W and 57.5 degree S wedges. I just don't get on well with the sharp and low leading edge of that model. Measured bounce aside, with the curvy shape the effective playing bounce was what I'd call medium-low by modern wedge terms. That combined with no leading edge relief is simply a disaster waiting to happen from tight lies. Even moreso from wet tight lies.

I'm starting to like my original Eye 2 SW a lot. Now actively looking for a set of Eye 2 irons, not the later Eye 2+ shape.

Eye2 and Eye2+ both great. Gobs of sole width on Eye2 made it very forgiving, and heel relief added some versatility. Eye2+ ground off trailing edge made it ultra versatile....on anything but a cart part you could literally lie it on its back ...and high actual bounce added some forgiveness. Stock shaft on both was crappy though. ..I think ping made a bulk purchase of factory seconds TT-lite or something. A general thing with either relative to the rest of a set without that much offset, eye2 head being that far behind the shaft will make it feel different during the swing.
