Buying New irons

Looking to buy new irons but debating whether to wait since there will be lots of new irons coming out next year? Tried the M6 irons and Wilson D7, will get fitted as well

Are you playing right now? Irons don’t change much. Tech is BS lofts just get strong and CGs move around. So you’re not really losing anything by getting what’s out now - there are some great sticks. That said, if it’s winter where you are and you’re not on the course I’d wait, work off the rust and get fitted when the season starts back up.

Irons are irons, man. There's been a decent bit of progress on the GI side over the last decade which is what it sounds like you're interested in but nothing is going to be world altering.

Buy if you want to.

Yes, I am currently playing right now a lot. It is suppose to be winter but the weather is being weird right now. I really do appreciate the honest response, helps me a lot more!

Nice, I’d recommend stretching it out awhile before getting fitted and going to the store to hit them often. You may find something that you wouldn’t normally play brand wise works good. Plus you can practice for free for a while haha.

I had to have new irons recently. I play j15 cb and thought I just had to have Ping I210 but after getting them....j15s are still in the bag. So I’d keep what you have if you play them well. Will sell the i210s on bst as soon as I have enough posts.

If the conditions are decent still there isn't a better time to get fit than the end of the season IMO. I was playing by best golf in October.

I have the M6s and enjoy them--generally long, forgiving, and able to hold greens with them. Bad shots are mine, not the clubs. I think there's been less written about the M-6s because of the multiple TM models out there, some of which are sexier and have had much more publicity. I'm an old guy, 67, 13 hi, swing speed around 90. I've messed around a bit with the D7s. Lots of very good reviews and much love for the D-7s. My only concern is that the Recoil shafts are fairly light--lighter than those of the M6s--and I think a bit too light for me. I believe that Wilson has a demo program you might try.
