The Beauty of Wood

I recently built a new display rack for my clubs and sometimes when I walk into my workshop the light hits the wood just right and there seems to be nothing in the world more beautiful than an old persimmon club. I grabbed this pic this morning and made it my screen saver.

Even if the time comes to stop playing, I can still enjoy these clubs for the work of art they are.

Thanks elwhippy. They weren’t all getting regular play because I had them all in individual boxes on a shelf. I’d have to unbox them each time I wanted to play something else so I finally decided to make a rack for easy access to them. The picture is of only three rows but the rack is 10 rows total. The Mac’s in the picture get regular play but the three sets of Spalding’s are new to the collection and need to have the soleplate and insert reset with epoxy and then sealed in semigloss spray poly before I play them, but they will get regular play come spring.

Is your Wood Bro’s. Australian are regular in the bag?

I hear a story from " PersimmonPal" some years ago. He shared that there is an individual " he knows" who has 2000 persimmon wood golf clubs. Just imagine the size of storage area he must have. Nice persimmon wood sticks deejaid.

Nice looking rack, DJ.

The shop I visit for most of my loft and lie adjustments has a similar rack in front of the shop, with several refinished persimmons. I always stop to take a look at them when I'm there. Can't not do so.
