How do you hit your cobra one length hybrid

Hi everyone, recently treated myself to my first ever brand new club, the f9 one length hybrid. Had one range session and loved the feel, but due to storm Denis couldn't really trust how good the end results are.

It did get me thinking though, for those who use it, how do you and hit the club? Do you hit it like your 7 iron (for me would be middle of stance and real feel of compress) or like a regular hybrid (for me further forwards and more of a sweeping feel but still a downward strike).

Interested to hear your thoughts everyone.

For me, I need to forget it is a hybrid and hit it more like the other one length irons. I see hybrid and tend to stand too far away from it and hit a push. When I remember it is a shorter shaft and stand closer I get better results. Enjoy the one length clubs. On my 3rd set, I won't go back to standard lengths....

middle of the stance. I probably dont actually hit it like a 7 iron. but that is my thought before swinging. the one length hybrid is also remarkably good around the greens. spend some time practicing around the chipping area and add a whole new element to your game.

I did really well with the 24 degree OL hybrid, no issues elevating the ball. Very accurate. I had more difficulty hitting the 21 degree high enough, and I have always had a high ball flight with irons. Both hybrids can be elevated fine from the rough, but from the fairway it was hard for me to elevate the 21 degree. Perhaps it was the rails on the bottom.

Similar to other people I had a tough time elevating the 21 degree single length hybrid. Swing speed of around 105 with the driver so not fast but not slow either.

I’m a big fan of cobra hybrids but ended selling the one length on eBay and went back to my F7 hybrid. The SL is great for punch out shots from under a tree. I could advance the ball 150 yards or more playing a slice that hugged the ground. Couldn’t do much better when I was trying to get it in the air haha.

I was back and forth with the Single Length Hybrid and the Single Length Utility. Utility won hands down with its predictability, not as big miss hit result, and it just looked better. Single Length clubs, I am only 2 months into my little experiment and I've put up the best round of my life so far. The Utility was a big part of that on the Par 5s as I was too close for a 3 wood.

Hope that helped.

It's 7 iron length and you play it just like a 7. Think an easy short iron swing and you'll be fine. These will not get the same distance as a standard hybrid no matter what anyone says and if you try to step on theses, they are just going to go left.

I play a standard set, but bought both the King F8 One Hybrid 4 & 5. I hit nothing but low duck hooks with the 4 and said adios. The 5 maybe just as draw biased, but I reigned it in by thinking I am hitting a full wedge and not a hybrid. I was having so much fun with the 5 that I tried another 4 and again, adios.

It's an amazing trouble club from tricky lies, deep rough and fairway bunkers. I call it my fairway wedge and does not fit a gap or replace an iron in my set. I'm usually aiming to get 7-8 iron distance and that's what I get. There is not a better club from the deep rough. It's just phenomenal. As far as Texas wedging, I don't like the springy face when I try chipping with it and the Utility Black One is a whole lot better at it.

Had a couple of rounds with it now and all I can say is it's already my most reliable club in the bag. Long shots off the fairway have ways been an Achilles heel of mine, but using this long par 5s became easy par opportunities for me. Also from advice from people here, can see the potential of this around the greens once I get used to judging bump and runs with it!

I have the exact same problem with the same clubs.  Have you found a way to get height out of your 21 degree yet?

Hi - I solved the problem by benching the 21 degree.  I still like the F9 24 degree a lot, but I bought a Callaway Rogue hybrid, i think 21 degrees, and I really like it.   I use single length from 24 degree through PW, so one less single length club (21 degree) isn't a big deal since i don't use it much.
