Ping TS grind comparisons

Hey guys I have been playing the Ping TS grind for a long time, since the Tour- S wedges before the glides. It’s worked very well for me even though I have moved and the courses I play now are softer I am still happy with the wedge. I just have an itch to try something else, not drastically different, maybe a little more bounce but similar in grind. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, the Ping TS is actually high forward bounce but the thin sole makes the effective bounce low. 

what else out there that is similar? 

Cleveland RTX 4 X-Low is very similar. If you like the bounce a bit more up front, you might want to look at a Vokey V-Grind or possibly an RTX 4 V-Grind (mid bounce).

thanks. I will have to take a look at the Cleveland’s. Vokey V grind may be hard to find to try but will look for it. Have you ever tried the TaylorMade ATV. I never played it but remember liking the original ATV grind when I tested it.

I have the Hi-Toe 60 ATV. Completely different animal. All the bounce is in the back with a scalloped sole and a slight bump right on the front edge. I'm more of a fan of the 4-way camber. I prefer a wide sole that is medium to low bounce.

I’ve been using the TS grind since it was first introduced. I have very brief periods where I try to replace it, but it never works. Now I’ve just accepted that it’s never leaving my bag.

I suggest you do the same.

You are probably right!! I get this urge every couple years but haven’t found anything yet. I know I don’t like the traditional low bounce C grinds (vokey M grind) and I like single digit effective bounce clubs for my lob wedge, I am always shallow through the ball and blade it if it’s more.

have you tried the ping forged wedge? I kind of wish the TS had a little more bounce but that’s because of the courses I play most of the time now.

TS is really hard to match. Hands down the best grind for open face shots, yet not a digger when played square. I’m still playing Tour S Rustique wedges, and ive tried them all. On my 3rd set of them. I may try Glide 2.0 stealth wedges for my next set, but it will def be in a ts grind on my 60.

I love the TS grind because it both has very low bounce and extremely high bounce (the forward part of the sole is like 25 degrees of bounce or more). It means you can open it up and won’t blade it, and square shots don’t dig. The Glide forged is a cute little wedge, but the sole just isn’t as versatile. More bounce on open face shots and digs more on square shots.

I’ve played the TS on hardpan and I’ve played it in swamps. Once you become one with the sole, it works everywhere.

I had those wedges and I think that is where I fell in love with the TS grind, I know I haven't found anything better since then. The GolfWRXer in me always wants to try to find something better but still haven't!

You pretty much described everything I love about the wedge, great when square but can open it up and won't blade it! I have done the same flopped it off near concrete and when its really soft (which happens a lot lately) and it always performs. Thanks for the review on the Forged, I have wanted to try it but probably stay with what I have. You probably just save me more money, so thank you!
