    Let me know when Scotty releases a Notchback or a new Del Mar. Now that would get me pumped.

    Cool inside pics and info though.

    Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm always glad to contribute to the forum whenever I can. I wish I had asked Scotty what material it was made out of. I just assumed it was SS. It would weigh a ton if that were true but I didn't think about it at the time.

    Seems like there's not much love for the new design. It looked better in person, but it still seems like it's going to be a tough sell for Scotty.

    Thanks for the pics -- I saw this come up in Reid's pictures but it appears we all skimmed over it.

    Kudos for the in-hand pictures!

    I'm pretty sure this putter surfaced last summer when he was working a proto for someone. Everyone was saying it looked like a Craz-E then too. First seen on GolfWRX in August of 2008!!!

    kinda looks like a detour got swallowed by a futura...

    Ha! Well put. It seems like putter makers are putting an emphasis on getting the ball rolling quicker via reduced loft, deep/low weighting and face grooves. I like Scotty's willingness to bring to market some unconventional designs (Futura, Detour and now KOMBI) but he has yet to hit one out of the park. I am also a little disappointed that he hasn't addressed the improved roll issue that the rest of the putter world seems to be shifting towards. I feel like he has the capability and resources to make a putter that gets so much buzz and talk on and off of the pro tours, but designs like this just seems to get an inevitable C- grade when it's all said and done. I just feel like there's something he's not hitting on with his unconventional designs. Any thoughts?

    There's another thread (now locked) that gives a better idea of the look address: http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=218547

    To me it looks more Rife Island that Craz-E.

    As others have said, the seems to be limited scope for anything novel shape-wise. I think it's a shame that SC gets knocked for being a copier of other designs. What sets SC, BB and all of the other A-league designers/manufacturers apart is the quality and attention to detail, tolerances, materials etc.

    And for me, SC remains A-league, even if this particular design doesn't appeal to me personally.

    Cool pics, wonder if thats similar to what JB was using for awhile?

    THe one that JB used was the one Scotty used to win the Club Championship at the Bridges. Not sure if its like this one or an earlier version

    Scotty got skills? Wow, good for him. Net or Gross? If it is net then he was just the best pencil whipper. It looks like it should be called a Scotty Kombi inspired by Ping craz e.

    :: insert obligatory bitter comment about how scotty just rips ping off ::

    but seriously, ping craz-e was the first thing that came to mind when i saw it.

    I realize that my favorite putter is my Red X, but there are a lot's of successful Cameron designs that look similar to other putters:

    Newport = Anser

    Newport 2 = Anser 2

    Laguna = Zing 2

    Laguna 2.5 = My Day

    Caliente - Zebra

    Red X - Rossie

    Yet some of the "original" putters weren't very successful:

    Futura

    Detour
