I like the '97 Napa head the best. It feels heavier to me than the 8802 which I prefer. It is the closest shape to the 8802 head of all the Napa designs IMO. I have never putted with a Palmer Designed By but My dad has a 64 8802 that really got me hooked on blade style putters. I love that one.

I like the 8802 myself. I guess I am biased to it since I used one for quite a few years and had some memorable putting rounds with it before moving to a Laguna 2.

62 Palmer and 64 8802 by far...those two cannot be duplicated..and many have tried.

I still have and occasionally use my 64 8802.

I really enjoy putting around with my dad's old MacGregor Tommy Armour IMG putter from the mid 60's. I love the way it sets up to the ball and it's a great feel coming off the face. The only problem is the fact that the putter is almost 38" long and my dad won't let me touch it.

My favorite shape for blade putters is the Arnold Palmer type. Either the Original or the AP30R from the 60's. I like minimal offset and more rounded toes that taper towards the rear of the putter.

I recieved my black 8802 MJ SE Milled putter a few days ago and it is bar none the most"butter" of all my blade's with a close second to my MacGregor MacGregor Milled VIP Ironmaster Limited Edition Blade. Very Nice, still a few on ebay i see too. Best Spin Milled finish i have seen outside some of the Tour Napa's, Mendralla did good on this model!!

Arnold Palmer AP30 R. I think it was made in the 60s. This is a shorter blade length with less offset than the 8802 styles. It still has the original stepless shaft. I have been using this putter for the last 12 years. I am a 5 handicap and putting is the strength of my game as my ball striking is erratic. This putter has the best feel, best feedback and rolls the ball truer than any putter I have ever tried. It is best on fast greens.

Walter Hagen has a 8802 blade model style. I have a few heads I am sending to Lamont. See if he can bring them to life.

Bobby Grace 2200 "Softie" is my pick. Napa's are great, but not heavy enough.

Yeah, but when a topic is over three years old, it's ok to start a duplicate-ish version anew. image/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

What's impressive to me here is in this time, stage1350's "Current gamer is b]still[/b any of a multitude of Bettinardi BB2 models..." For me though, my favorite blade to game is the JAS Tess. Feel is nice, weight is nice, forgiveness for a blade is more than nice. Favorite that I have is the lefty Cleveland Designed by Classic in beryllium copper with original leather grip. Don't get much perdier than that. image/wub.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If I could putt as well with one of those as I do with an Anser style, then I would have either a Mills or a Bettinardi BB2 for sure.

having owned most of them...original 8802, Designed by Arnolds.. etc etc.

My Tour Napa is the sweetest, but ofcourse it's shafted with the green headspeed from the 60's.

I'm an 8802 fan. Bought one on my 15th birthday and putted fabulous with it for years. I remember one summer I don't I missed more than a handful from 5 feet and in. Unfortunately, somebody stole it and no other 8802 seemed to have the same feel.

    I'm not really a heel-shafted fan - but I'd snatch your hand off for a nice 8813.

I've "migrated" from my OC Napa to the SB8. It is right in between my Napa and my BB16H.

The offset is lesser than the BB16H. The angles seem closer to the Napa, a bit more angular. Headweight is great at about 345. I find the 356gram BB16H a bit heavy.

I still would want a BB2 though to eventually replace the Napa.
