Has anyone tryed both???
I am in the market to buy some new irons and I have it narrowed down to the Callaway Diablo Forged and the MX300's. After hitting both it is a very close call. Just the other day I started looking at the X-Tour Forged and they caught my eye. I was wondering if anyone can compare them to the 2 sets I have been eyeing. Thanks for the replys!!

I have never played forged club until I recently bought the Diablos on a whim. They are the smoothest feeling clubs I have ever played and are extremely forgiving for the smaller profile that they have. My clubs before that were the 09 Burner irons and I feel that the Diablo are every bit as forgiving if not more and are leaps ahead as far as feel goes. I have heard nothing but good things about the Mizuno's so I don't think that you can go wrong whichever choice you decide

Yes, I've owned both. Currently have the Diablo Forged, and had the X Tours last year.

Appearance: There's actually a thread on there (so a search for Diablo Forged) that a fella has comparison pics btw the X Tours and the Diablo Forged. Personally, I found that while the X Tours are a bit shorter heel to toe, the DF's have a slightly more narrow topline. The X Tours have a bit less offset as well, and have more or a straight leading edge, while the DF's have more of a rounded leading edge.

Forgiveness: The DF's win hands down. The X Tours are much more workable, yet still have quite a bit of forgiveness for a smaller "player's" cb. You'll have to remember that the X Tours were Callaway's first 2-piece forging. Heck, when they came out, they were $1K as well. The DF's are Callaway's 2nd 2-piece forging, with the same price tage.

Feel: While I love the DF's feel, the X Tours are just so pure as well, even a tad more muted. The DF's use a Carpenter Steel face, which produces a higher pitched "thwick" at impact, while the X Tours have a lower-pitched "thwuck" at impact.

Length: The DF's are probably a good 1-1.5 club longer. This is due in part to the stronger lofts (the X Tours are much closer to traditional lofts) and the Carpenter Steel face which has a more spring-like effect.

Workability: This goes along with forgiveness... I found the DF's to be more point and shoot. If you like to work the ball, the X Tours will be a great set at a FRACTION of the cost.

I had a set of X Tours with DGS300's and to be honest, I wish I still had them. I was stupid to sell them, but oh well. The DF's have replaced them (along with my '09 Burners) and they are just to SWEET!

Hope this helps..

The X-Tours offer Great feel, Workability, and ample forgiveness. I am not even considering a change until my set is completely out of life.
