FT Tour vs FT-9

The FT Tour has a lower launch and much lower spin... plus a lot better looking IMO!!!

The FT Tour is the best driver on the market at the moment

Since the FT-3 the drivers for Callaway have been a little Ho-Hum.. The FT-9 TA/ FT- Tour are the same in many ways. The TA was available in draw and fade bias but was quickly rebadged the FT - Tour earlier this year. It is a true low spin bomber!!! You can expect 400-600 less RPM from The FT-9 with increased ball speed. I've gained about 7-10 in the air and much much more on the ground.. Carry 265-275 @ 168 ballspeed launching 10.2 and 2400-2700 spin... It's the real deal - get yourself one!

Keep in mind that the FT Tour comes equipped with an Aldila Voodoo (albeit a .350 tip) and has a 'no upcharge' option of a Matrix XCon 5 or 6. I think this was a good move by Callaway. Back when I got mine a couple months ago, the Tour Van was in town and I was able to demo both the Matrix and Voodoo shafts. In the end, the Voodoo worked best. My FT-9 Tour (not the TA) was gone after one round with the FT Tour. Dispersion was much tighter and overall distance is much better. I can't really tell how much more carry I got but I'm guessing about 5 yards or so. However, the rollout is very good. Overall, I got an average of 10-12 yards more but have gotten more when I really get a hold of a good drive. I had the same loft on the FT-9 as on my FT Tour. I also like the Voodoo much better than the stock Fuji ZCom on the FT-9.

I have to agree with the above post regarding some previous Callaway drivers. I hadn't been really impressed with them since my days with my FT-3 Tour. The FT-5 Tour was close but the shaft just didn't work for me....and wasn't about to pay some ridiculous upcharge.

FT Tour is a bomber!!! This thing looks soooooo good at address also.

I own both drivers and have found the FT Tour plays about 10-15 yards longer than my FT9, has a much lower spin rate and is a lot more workable than the FT9.

The Ft-Tour sounds great how does it compare to the Diabalo Edge tour? It has a good shape hoe is the spin/distance?

Well, dependds on what you're after. I've been using the 8.5 FT-9 Tour i-mix w/ Fubuki Tour 63 and it's fantastic. Just recently had a chance to demo the 8.5 FT Tour w/ Voodoo. The FT Tour is much more lower launch than I expected. I was surprised. Great sound to it as well. The FT-9 Tour is more forgiving. It's probably one of the straightest drivers I've ever hit, if not THE straightest.

Just depends on what you want. The FT9 Tour is is quite workable as well. I've hit dependable fades, soft draws and the ball Straight! Which is what I like most. It's just such an easy driver to hit well.

Other's mileage may vary, but I want a driver that I can count on time and again, and thus far, the FT-9 Tour has proven to be just that.

The FT-Tour launches so low, I bet the market for higher launching low spinning shafts has gone up. Has anyone tried a FT Tour with a GD Tour AD DI shaft?
