Aldila HM-55 shaft

Aldila HM-55 shaft was my gamer back in the day, an extremely low torque shaft. Looking to find full specs on this shaft. Thanks

Not so sure I can help but I was an Aldila Authorized Fitting Center in those days. The HM55 was in the 1.4 degrees of torque range. 110gram range, boron reenforced tip so vary tip stiff. Most PGA Tour players thought it was harsh and not responsive. Those that tried it preferred it in an R flex.

Sorry I cannot remember it more. It was not a big seller in the HM line.

It went HM30, HM35, HM35BT, HM40, HM50, HM55...I think..LOL

Man, you aren't kidding! The "R" flex is rated at 104 MPH and the butt and tip deflection numbers are substantially higher than even the Grafalloy Blue! If you spin this shaft too much, you need to quit golf and find a new sport.

I actually played this in the Strong flex. Distance was not the problem, dispersion was. Just won a brand new one in Firm on the bay and think I will install into a FT Tour head.

I've got an HM-40 in a Big Bertha 4 wood that I'll play from time to time. It's still a good shaft - 'specially since it's tough to find heavy graphite anymore.
