There's nothing wrong with having a few war wounds on your clubs.

If there was no ruling allowing you to move your ball then TAKE THE SHOT.

For THAT situation contending to win a tournament, I'd take the shot.

Otherwise - I would NOT risk my club. In fact - during the week for most practice rounds, I carry a club specifically for those bad ground situations.

DEPENDS... what kind of tournament??? what kind of prize money?? if it's the local muni thing and you get 50 bucks....forget it..

now if its for the masters....off of concrete and i get as steep as possible... i want all the spin i can get... WHAT CLUB???

i would put money on myself hitting the ball clean without leaving 1 mark on the club!!

I hit shots off concrete all the time.I did it with a brand new custom fit wilson staff iron the other day its not as hard as most people think.

Hit the shot! if worse comes to worse, you might have to buy a replacement head for whatever club you used.

I'd take the shot. Thats what the backup set and Tour Van are for. If I am not going to play to win, I am not going to play.

how about always carry a clone of your 5 iron for these situations?

it's just a club, i'd be more worried about hitting out of thick, links rough and damaging my wrist.

I'd look try my best to manufacture a shot using my 7iron since it's already got a nasty, nasty ding in it. I hit it out of an empty drainage ditch while playing by myself... heck, I had a shot at my front 9 record for that course. ;)

Ouch.

Hit the shot. I did it in high school and my iron set only had been used for like 3 rounds. Put a rock mark across the bottom, but I ended up winning.
