Anybody compare last years XV with the new XV with spin skin? Spin wise...does it spin more or are they pretty similar. I absolutely love last years XV and hope they haven't changed it too much.

Let me know what your findings are!

That thread has really good reviews...sadly I have a feeling they changed the ball in a way I won't like. But then again I haven't hit them yet so I'll just have to wait and see.

I'll sum it up for me. Spin better around the green but shred almost like a prov1x. When I'm done with my old supply I'm looking for something else.

Coheed have you tried the Lethal? A little more spin than the original XV ( driver-wedge) but not as much as the Spin Skin and beats the hell out of the ProVx and SS XV in durability.

I haven't tried the Lethal at all. I used to play the Penta when it came ou and remember really liking that ball. But when I found the XV, I knew this would be my ball forever. I wish they hadn't changed it.
I'll give the Lethal a try this season, thanks for the suggestion.

I prefer the older model XV as well. Dick's Sporting Goods still has quite a bit of the prior model on the shelves at $24.95

I've moved to the rocketballs urethane. Seems to be close to the old xv at least to me anyway. Bought a bunch of them on clearance ar academy for 19.99.

I moved from the old XV to the Lethal. No regret guys and those who are fans of the ole Red-LDP - this ball is really, really close to it. The ole XV was legendary for the durability and based on the reviews here and some post on this thread, this really suffered to give more spin - it just does not work for me.

Played a round this weekend with the new XV's. Gorge wedges and played the same ball the entire round. No durability issues for me. Played the next day with the new B330 and durability seemed much worse for me. Ball scuffed on wedge shots and also seemed to dull in color after about 6 holes.
