OGIO Shling

Does anyone have, or can anyone get information on this bag/carrying system. It looks pretty cool, but at the rate OGIO is going on the design and release, they could have built the Great Wall of China from toothpicks by now. I desperately need a new carry bag but am trying to hold off until it is released, as I like new, techhy stuff. If I wait too much longer, though, my current bag is going to disintegrate into dust.

Ditto, I believe it was first mentioned in 2004, the introduction was delayed until early 2005, that never happened either. I don't know if we will ever see the Schling from Ogio.

I recall they discovered it wasn't adjustable enough for different body types and went back to the design lab. My guess is after all this time they couldn't come up with an acceptible design. I consider it dead.

I just called ogio and they said, that 2 new bags are coming out with the shling.

One smaller called flight and another bigger one called vision.

 

release dates are expected in april.

Dunno about the rest of you, but a release date for a release date doesn't sound promising for any time soon to me.

Saw the two bags at the show that they will be releasing with the schling strap -very cool!! First 800 units already sold out thru the spring; my guess they gave majority to the chain-stores or are holding back to sell (double-dip) on their own website. *Even a cool briefcase with the schling!

The new Shling it much more comfortable than the first version. The adjustibility makes it a better fit for all golfers. The two new bags with it are nice. Better yet, some of the new Ogio materials with "camo" and "punker" motifs will really make your bag stand out.

 

That said, the new IZZO One Up will give it some pretty strong competiton.

 

I hope OGIO can make it work. Awesome company with great vision and solid products, IMHO.

Is it anywhere close to the EDGE? I have sure been wanting to buy the edge, but I would like to hold out for the new strap since I mainly walk it looks like it would be much better. I really like the design of the edge.

The Shling will be available in April of 2006. The Shling will not be able to fit the Edge bags or the other stand bags in our line. The Shling has been made to fit the Vision SS and the Flight SS.

In January 2006, OGIO will introduce the redesigned Shling carrying system to guests and media at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. Because the Shling's technology requires specific, offset attachment points to help strike an ideal balance, the device initially will be released on two new OGIO bags - the Flight and the Vision.

Beginning in April 2006, these two bags with the Shling System will be distributed to a limited number of golf retail partners. Because we are a manufacturer and not a direct-to-consumer distributor, all such devices must be purchased through one of OGIO's retail partners. Therefore, we are taking this opportunity to offer you this pre-order form (see link below), which you are invited to bring to your local OGIO retailer should you wish to order a Shling-enabled golf bag.

OGIO Takes Shling to Flight, Vision Stand Bags

 

 

 

OGIO has introduced two new stand bags in its 2006 collection specifically designed to accommodate the company’s groundbreaking Shling System – a revolutionary carrying device that delivers weight straight to two shoulders in one seamless motion.

The OGIO Vision – available in both Fire (pictured here) and Silver – is outfitted with the a nine-inch version of the patented Woode Club Management System top, full-length three-way dividers, the popular Zipperless Ball Pocket, and the anti-twist TORQ strap that helps secure the bag to pull carts. Among the Vision’s 11 pockets – six of which are zippered – is a waterproof, fleece-lined valuables pocket, as well as a waterproof internal wet/dry pocket.

OGIO’s Flight bag, which weighs 6.45 lbs, is available in Chiaro (royal blue), Juice (orange), and White. The nine- pocket bag features a walking- accessible water bottle holster, the TORQ anti-twist cart strap, an external cell phone pocket, and is capped off with a nine-inch Woode top.

Both the Vision (MSRP: $270.00) and the Flight (MSRP: $240.00) feature offset attachment points on the bag’s body to accommodate the OGIO Shling System. I dont have much to add but just wanted to keep this topic alive. I am very excited for the release of the bag. Anyone know if any new developments since the PGA show. I know the basis for which bags and that it will be sometime in Spring. Anyone know when they should hit us in full force?
