The JAS Putter is the creation of PING Chairman & CEO John A. Solheim. John, who began building putters with his father (PING Founder Karsten Solheim) when he was 14, set out to design a putter that provided golfers maximum forgiveness and the ultimate feel. The result is a precision milled, forged titanium putter with brazed tungsten inserts on the heel and toe.

Tungsten weights are brazed onto a fully forged titanium body prior to the part undergoing a milling process that includes more than 40 tool changes. The heavy tungsten weights and the lightweight titanium create extreme perimeter weighting with a very high moment of inertia and a low center of gravity. A thick face properly tunes the putter for a soft, solid feel.

The complex milling process of the JAS produces precise, perfectly square lines and surfaces for easy alignment and added confidence.

Each JAS putter features a serial number that serves as a reference for the putter's specifications. Stored in PING's database in Phoenix, Arizona, the serial number provides a record of the putter's length, lie angle, loft, grip type and model type.

This is one of the most high quality putters I've ever had the chance to put with, and I think that is is also one of the most over looked putters when people talk about putters (don't forget the Anser was around way before the Newport). While I didn't pay the $500ish price tag that this list for I paid about half that off ebay and I am very happy I did.

Appearance: 10/10

One of the most classy/sexy looking putters I've ever seen. It just looks like a matte gray Newport, but smaller and more efficient looking to my eyes. Just a plain black filled sight line, no horse shoes or 3-balls just classy all the way.

Feel- 9/10

With the body being Ti I was a little worried about how the putter would feel, but I'm happy to say that there is no "tinny" or "thinky" feel associated with the JAS, I would really compare it to a Scotty in the area of feel espically when actually stroking a putt. I was also worried about the weight of the putter, but, to my suprise, the putter feels plenty heavy and solid when striking a proV1. I personally think it feels more pure in my hands than any Scotty I've had (SS, Tei3, X2, Futura, Gun Blue), but I've never hit a tour issued one, so take it with a grain of salt.

Performance- 16/10 (lol)

This is the selling point of the putter in my opinion. The technology that Ping built into this thing is amazing. It has the MOI and forgiveness of any 2 ball or Bobby Grace putter I've ever hit, and it looks so classic so you don't feel stupid walking around with a potato masher in your bag. Knowing that the putter is as forgiving as the biggest putters on the market gives me a sense of confidence without even doing anything, and then when I set up to strike a putt there isn't anything distracting going on with the putter, its just all business.

I really think that this is a putter that won't leave the bag too often and when/if it does then it's certianly not going on eBay or the BST, just for a little time out at most. I hope I didn't ramble and if you are thinking about getting one of these just email me with any questions you might have about it. Thanks, JT

These are great putters, pretty hard to find though. If you can find one at a reasonable price grab it.

I simply cannot say i have ever used anything better. I cannot imagine it ever leaving my bag. Got mine for 100 bucks with a used craz-e trade in! Ran out of there before the guy changed his mind/realized what he just did. I had been going through 2 putters a year until this one, the JAS has been in the bag for 3 years now.

I just got one of these great putters from ebay not really knowing much about it. It was a last second buy and got it for $120. I’m LH and I found that these are even harder to get lefty. When I got it I played two rounds and found the shaft was bent. So I had a UST FF shaft put into it and a Ping BlackOut grip and now it rolls the ball like a dream. I will never part with this putt (well not this year!).

I own 4 of these putters...by far my favorite. It has kept TP Mills, Camerons, etc out of the bag. I keep trying to replace it, but after a couple of rounds it's right back in the bag I've finally decided to quit experimenting...nothing has the feel, accuracy, and look of my JAS...in bag and backup bag too

Just picked up one of these for $49 shipped. Worth the money in 2017?

Nice example of an anser but I'll be interested to see what milled titanium feels like.
