Found my Unicorn

New, in plastic, LH Adams A4 Forged Gap wedge to go with my 5-PW set. Now just to reshaft on to Matrix Studio 84 graphite shaft from the CB2 gw I was using.

Congrats! Mine was a Nickent 4DX #5 hybrid...now its a #6 hybrid...

I have yet to even see LH 3 or 4 iron, yet one for sale. I think Adams only made 3/4 irons in RH. Watching a SW, but not sure if I want to pay the current price. My Cleveland 56º SW has been behaving.

I've seen a few lefty 4 irons but they were tour van only. Was a great set of irons

So, I'm about to fall asleep in a hotel room in Atlanta, GA after a looooooong day at Six Flags. Everyone else is cashed out and I'm watching the end of a college b-ball game. So what does any logical WRX'er do? That's right,..........

 

CHECK EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

And there it was. A Nickent Genex 3DX 1h. 14 beautiful degrees of hybrid loveliness.

 

And glory be, there was a "Buy it Now" option. So I did, of course.

 

7 years in the searching, and a few dollars, and it was mine, ALL MINE! Hahahahahahahahaha!

 

So, even though it had the stock R flex shaft, I followed my "Never re-shaft a new club until you are certain that you need to!" rule and put a new grip on it and went straight to the first tee. Well, I waited until I had a day off, so not exactly straight to the tee, buy you get the idea.

 

And proceeded to cold top the first shot dead into the lake. Nuts.

 

Oh, sure, I nutted the other 8 shots I hit with it that day, not once missing a fairway or layup target, but that first shot, BLECH!

 

So, it's for sale, any takers???? <------------------Completely in jest, you will have to pry this club from my cold, dead hands...................

And like many a WXR'r, I found it and then a year later, sold off the set. Bye-Bye Adams, hello Ping G25. The A4 was a beauty to look at, only forged iron set I ever owned, but even though it was a bit GI, my poor swing just couldn't handle them consistently. More offset, wide soles of my Pings fit my swing better.
