TaylorMade V Steel

Recommended Posts

I have been hitting a 15* vsteel with T/S graphite shaft and it hits bombs. I have never been happy with my 3 wood and now have no problem hitting it when I need to. I dont hit it often but when I do need it for that long par 5 it has been money. I like the fact that it doesnt have a really deep face. Great club off the deck and off the tee. You can pick these up really cheep now so dont hesitate to try one. I would put it up against any high dollar 3 wood out there.

I agree. T/S 13* is as long as my driver, too. My instructor was laughing at me when I told him I hit my 3 wood farther than my driver...until he saw me spank one with the vsteel. I got rid of the 5 wood because I love my Rescue Mid 2. Been looking for a R7 ST fairway wood to replace the vsteel, but, so far no luck.

I just picked up a nice 15* V Steel fairway wood for around $50 at Golf Galaxy. I have an Aldila DVS 65-S shaft going into it. I'll update as to how it plays in the spring....

I have the 15 degree 3 wood with the stock mas-2 stiff and the 19 degree 5 wood with an x-stiff ys-9.1.

the 3 wood can be hit high or low 220 yards and the 5 wood is great for hitting it up and landing soft around 200 easily. If you don't like the hybrids, these are pretty good out of the rough and have a nicer setup at address. The feel on a good shot really seals the deal for me.

These clubs hit long and easily with good results.... I absolutely toed my 3 wood yesterday and still hit it 200 and only 10 yards right...If you are looking for reasonably priced used fairway woods on ebay, try these out and you won't be disappionted... I bet there are golfers like me that still hit these so good, they are'nt thinking of upgrading to newer tm's.

i love the vsteels and have 2 supposedly identical heads, but each plays a bit different - i think one plays just a hair closed. i heard from a custom guy that taylormade had at least 15 different masters making the heads. quality control is always an issue for the big manufacturers- even for special orders (if not more so).

Use the V-steel, stiff steel stock shaft 15 degrees. and a Burner graphite stiff 15. V-steel is a bit lower trajectory but runs a little and burner is higher. Burner gets killed in the wind (10+ mph) but not the v-steel.

The difference is when I miss a fairway or green the burner stays put, the v-steel keeps going. Both great clubs.

I heard about Vsteel from a friend who was raving about it. Me being a first-year golfer, it didn't register at first, but I got a 5W anyway to try it out.

As my swing started to stabilize, of all the clubs in my bag, I discovered the VSteel 5W is the most natural to hit. The TM Burner 3W in comparison was always tricky, so I sold it off and I set my sights on a VSteel 3W, only to discover that they are no longer in production.

After much searching around, with luck and the help my friend Duncan from Absolut, amazingly I found a rare supply of brand new 3W and 5W. I bought two of each. Took out the 3W for a round yesterday, and hit some nice, long shots with it.

Am a happy camper now.

This is the best designed head for my sense of a fairway wood I ever encountered. It's just the right amount of low profile and sets up just right for my eye. After a long search for a fairway wood I really trusted and like, I found this. And for $40. That's sweet.

I've used a 13* for about a yr and a half now and goes pure. Mid to low trajectory and I think the Speeder 757 or and Diamana 83 are the way to go.
[/quote]I have a TM V Steel with a Diamana BB 83 and it's a wonderful feeling club. I keep trying to get it out of my bag, but just haven't found anything I hit better.
