New Glove, Awkward Feel

Got a new glove, same exact model and size, but the issue is the old one was beyond worn and definitely due for replacement 10+ rounds ago. Anyway, the transition was difficult as my feel changed drastically. Grip pressure was the biggest problem and the tackiness seemed to cause a disconnect between my hands.

 

Is it possible I grooved my swing to the older, more tattered feel and my problem is a result of that?

 

BTW, I've come to realize my swing is a set of perfectly timed flaws that now results in a fairly repeatable/dependable outcome. It may just be that my other flaws haven't had time to adjust yet!!!

I also don't like the feel of a brand new glove, it feels to me like my left hand grip pressure increases, in reality its probably just an increase in tackiness.

 

I never use a box fresh one for a competitive round, always make sure its had at least 1 range session first. I try and keep 4 or 5 gloves in a similar condition.

Yep, exactly, its a foreign feel on the course that leads to a lack of confidence. Ever have those days where you just find it and your grip feels perfect, you know you're going to stripe it? That's the opposite of what I experience after a change like this. I'm what you might call a "goldilocks" golfer, only capable and competent when everything is just to my liking.

A new glove is a joy akin to slipping into freshly laundered sheets.

I changed grips and glove in the same session 2 weeks ago. Heaven.
