MP 18 SC vs. i210

I have had the MP 18's for a while now and have loved them. My game has improved since using them and I love the buttery feel.

 

I went to my local store to see if hitting an iron that is 1 degree flat would help. I threw an i210 head into an x100 shaft and was hitting the middle of the face every time. The club felt good and looked great at address. It would take some testing to confirm if the i210's are a better fit for me but wanted to see if any of you have hit both of these and what your thoughts are.

I've hit both and am a big fan of both. Similar distance but I felt the mp18's are a little less forgiving. Feel is subjective but I think the mp18's feel a bit better on solid contact. Both are awesome looking irons. I was surprised how thin the top line is on the i210's were (even compared to the i500's).

It would be difficult to justify a change from to the other based on performance, but what's the fun in that.

Both are great. I hit the i210s a bit farther and they are more forgiving for me. Unless you are struggling with your SCs, don't see a need to change?! ;)

Moved to i210 from MP 18 MMC. Love the look of the SC, but just didn't think they fit my game. i210 are super easy to hit. MMC were very low spin for me. I wouldn't mind having a set of SC just to look at, but play wise, I think the i210 is in another category for forgiveness.

Thanks for the feedback. The forgiveness would be the game changer for me. I plan on testing both and seeing which I hit better. In terms of looks at address, they both look great to me.

The i210s are a bit bigger and still a great looking iron to me. Definitely more forgiving than the SC. Go hit and see which is better for your game.

I'd also like to ask what shafts you use in the i210? And which shafts come as stock with no upcharge?

 

I currently use ctaper 130x's but I am afraid they may take too much spin off. It'd be between the x100, 120 S 300, or c tapers if I want to spend extra.

PX LZ 6.5. Straightest shaft I've ever played. Competely stumbled on it. Fitter had me try 6.0 a couple years back when I was fit for my Srixons. I hated them. Felt weird. Playing around with demos at PGASS and a guy had me try the 6.5 in some MMCs. Straight and long, so I had to try them in the 210s. Never would have guessed that shaft would work for me, but it's awesome.
