Copper Wedges

I had some Miura wedges and irons refinished with a copper plating with brushed nickle on top. I loved the look of them especially after a bit of use the copper really came thru on the wedges. I found the wedges hard to spin after the refinish. Not sure if it was mental or what but they were new before refinish. They felt good being forged steel with the copper plate not to clicky.

I have since sold the wedges but have hung onto the irons. I don[' think i will ever sell them there to pretty to look even if they are sitting in the back up bag at the moment.

 

Who did the copper work? I have a set of k grinds ready for the same treatment.

 

I live in Melbourne Australia so i had my mate Kari Lajosi do it. He makes great putters over here. Pretty strait forward. Sent to platers to stripe the chrome finish. Then back for some buffing and polish. Then back to the platers to get the copper and brushed nickle applied. Came out great.

The Ben Hogan beryllium wedges (52* / 56* ) from 1997 or 1998 ?? They were in my bag with the '99 Apex for awhile. Also have a set of beryllium Cleveland wedges from the early '90s. Those were in the bag with my '88 Hogan Redlines.

 

Very nice. I had a Hogan Special SI for years in the early & mid 1990s. Ended up being something of a single-purpose club for me, but it was SO good out of bunkers that I kept it and wore it completely out.
