Swing speed - Getting more

Ok,

I'm working on swing during the time off before we get out of a full lockdown. I've hit into a net for 2 months and that clearly hasn't worked based on where I'm at.

I've tried to get some of the George Gankas pivot move going but impact is always flipped and its so frigging annoying. I've tried getting tonnes of Right side bend in here but the handle just gets too far forward.

My struggles;

Arms overrun pivotLack of speed, im getting 100-105 which is utter pants for a man of my age and fitness level im sureIrons are feeling real sloppyInterested to see what anyone thinks.

Speed will come with improving your swing in general.

You've got a lot you could work on. Highly recommend taking lessons. If you take recommendations on here, they will be too scattered about. Everyone will have a different opinion on your root cause or what's more important to fix first.

Monte has a great price for an online lesson. I think it would be very big for you to stick with one instructor and his preferred path to improvement.

The only thing I'd throw in there. Your weight is staying on your back side. You'll always flip and struggle getting good impact without most of your weight on the lead side at impact.

Thanks for the words of wisdom, I think you are right, I love learning this stuff myself and working out what's right for me.

My COP trace is diabolical yes, I was working on this the last two sessions. Comparing to some Pro's my left leg starts going internal at about P3, I will work on spine extension from this point tomorrow and feeling more weight in left side at this point.

I think it's come from seeing a lot of GG's guys extended up.

way too flat a turn; both hips and shoulders - why you can turn so much. Monte gives live online lessons - I took one from my garage about a week ago- 30 minutes FaceTime or zoom would get you going on a better pivot - it’s killing your swing. Can do a follow up video for him after a bit to check in on progress. Great deal.

I actually thought had too much left side bend and not enough spine extension however...maybe not.

I'd like to get on a force plate to see what my trace is actually like :)

You sound like a smart guy but I think you are severely handicapping yourself thinking about the swing like that.

When I look at your swing I see ZERO athletic moves/motion. You seem like you are trying to hit certain positions and it's robbing you of all of your natural athletic ability and speed.

Just think about when you throw a baseball or football. I guarantee you wouldn't be thinking about P3 or any of that nonsense.

With all respect just swing it like you are throwing it and I bet your swing speed jumps by 20 MPH.

+1 on shoulders and hips turning way too flat. Wrist set more vertical. Lead knee kicks in too much which makes it hard to get pressure left early since it has so much ground to cover in the downswing.

+1 on lessons to quickly address the most glaring issue

You will pick up a ton of speed if you clean up that pivot.
