Played in a charity outing with some NFL players. Browning Nagle was in our foursome and was pissed off that nobody knew who he was. LT showed up late, missed all of the golf, avoided everyone at the cocktail party and dinner, collected his appearance money, and left.

Got to watch Jason Williams (white chocolate) tee off a few times while playing Isleworth in Orlando, and Charles Howell III at their driving range. That's about the extent of celebrity run-ins I've had WHILE playing golf.

Years ago (1998) I was supporting a customer in Redmond, WA (not Microsoft) and during the project there were intermittent days that I would be idle with no project work to do. I found a golf course complex called Willows Run. I was usually a single trying to hook up with a group. One day I met up with 3 other singles, two ordinary looking gentlemen and one man who had muscles on his muscles. He introduced himself as Winston. He seemed vaguely familiar to me but I couldn't place him. The next 4 holes we were having a nice conversation and nothing, about everything. Then it struck me who he was. After our tee shots on #5 I asked him if he is Winston Moss (former NFL linebacker, retired from the Seahawks). He said yes and I said too bad, we cannot be friends anymore and walked ahead. He was stunned. He caught up with me and asked why since we seemed to be getting along great. I said I was still not happy with him for terrorizing John Elway for several seasons and that Elway said he was one of the top 5 defensive players he hated playing against. I gave him a wink and we both busted out laughing. He was such a fun guy, really good golfer, a really terrific person. Our paths crossed several more times over the next couple of years there at Willows Run. One time he spotted me on a par 3 and came over asking what irons I was hitting. I just got a set of 1999 Ben Hogan Apex irons. He just took the 6 iron and hit a shot. At this point we are casual friends so I was great with that. He hit it pin high, 10 feet first time hitting them. He said he HAD to get a set of these. I asked if his wife, the boss, would approve such a purchase. We busted out laughing again. I really miss Winston Moss.
