If you've been skeptical about online lessons.....don't be!!

Wanted to share my experience with online/video lessons. I have always been very very skeptical and could never pull the trigger. I am a mix feel and visual player and when I do get a lesson, I ask a ton of questions and always want to know the reason behind what is asked of me. (if that makes sense). I'll be honest, I kind of thought it was a bit of a scam. Boy was I wrong.

 

Long story short, I have been at an all time low with my game over the last 6 months. I typically get a "tune up" lesson once every 10-12 months and can typically figure out what I am doing in between those lessons. This slump is different. I couldn't figure it out and the more I tried to simplify things, the worst it got.

 

Since I was at a complete loss, I said eff it and decided to give Monte a go since I have watched a bunch of his videos and he's helped me on here in the past. Paid the fee, filmed a few videos, sent em and got the results or "lesson" back a couple of days later. I couldn't be happier with what was sent back. It was roughly a 10 min explanation of who what where when why and how. In addition to the explanation, he compared my swing with a tour pro so that I could visualize what I need to be doing. Finally he gave me 3 drills to do, not all at once, but pick one or two and see what works. This was huge.

 

I only have 2.5 range sessions under my belt since Monte sent back his thoughts and it's a world of difference. I know these changes aren't going to happen overnight and I need to put the work in but this has be started in the correct direction and I can definitely tell. I know it's new but I actually want to go to the range now!

 

Not sure if anyone even cares but I wanted to share my thoughts incase there is a couple of people out there that thinks online lessons are snake oil, like I did.

I agree. In my experience in person lessons with a great instructor is better than online lessons from a great instructor which is better than a placebo which is better than any kind of lesson from a clown.
