US Am Qualifiers

Does anyone know where I can find out where the qualifiers are? I am from Canada ... playing golf in the US right now ... but looking to find out where the qualifiers are in ND and Montana. Thanks.

They won't be up on the USGA site until the 3rd week of April. Check the respective state golf association websites, as they usually have that info posted before the USGA. I would pencil in Old Works for MT though...

why don't you play in the Canada amateur? I dont get why everyone from every where else plays in the US Amateur when it should be for people from the US, no?

No, it's not for people from the US.... It's for the best amateur golfers from anywhere they want to come from.

The US and British Amateur Championships are the two most prestigious events for amateur golfers.

I'll be playing the qualifying as well (as well as hopefully be playing in the Canadian as well, can't afford to make the trek overseas yet unfortunately) and that is correct, the USGA doesn't release info about the US AM until the 3rd week of April.

With it being at Chambers Bay this year, that is just below the border, so hopefully I can qualify! Would be great to play in the US AM about as close as it is going to get to my hometown!

don't give that BS about the British Am which is only for the winners of other big amateur tournaments. The US AM is way different than that and it should be for the best players in the US, not in the world IMO.

typical american comment right there ... so ... does that mean you guys dont want international students down in your NCAA sports? I beleive 2 of the top 5 amateurs in the world are canadian. Nick Taylor and Matt Hill. I will try to play in the canadian am as well. I played in the Canadian junior last year ... just trying to move up in the golf world. sorry d3coach for trying ... you must run a stellar program with that attitude.

Dude, these questions are getting old. Elite amateur events will not put the condition of competition into effect until 2014.

In response to the question about the spin milled wedges.

You can still use some spin milled wedges. Titleist makes a wedge called the Spin Milled CC which has the V grooves but are still spin milled. These wedges are conforming to the new USGA rules.

And What is the big deal about having people from other countries play in the U.S. Am. How About the U.S.
Open. Without all of the people from other countries the field wouldn't be nearly as strong.

play in as much as you can,play the US open quailifier as well, usually a great course for a cheap price. I don't like the typical US comment, d3coach made a stupid comment not the US, Good luck all summer.

actually some people do feel that way. I was amazed a few weeks back reading posts where people said U.S. colleges shouldn't be allowed to give scholarships to international athletes.
