Betsy had a true player's bag going on. Although this witb is over a decade old, at the time this article was in print her irons were up to 17 years old. If I saw a someone (male or female) with that setup today, I'd pull out my pen and pad to start taking notes...

I love golf

Driver:  2018 Cally Rogue 10.5* (Set to 12.5*)

Fairway Metals:  Ping G30 14.5* and 18*

Irons:   PXG Gen3 0311P (4-G) MMT80 Stiff

Wedges:  PXG 0311 Forged 54*/58* MMT80 Stiff

Putter:  Odyssey Stroke Lab “Double Wide” 34”

Bag:  G-Fore Daytona Plus (AKA: Vessel Lite)

Can someone please indulge me on this: R-Flex on the driver shaft but she plays 6.0 in the woods?
I was wondering the same thing??? On another note, when you have that type of game, I guess you're more concerned with feel than shaft flexibility ratings. The TT EI-70 was a player's graphite shaft and if memory serves me correct they were stiffer (and had higher kick points) than other R Flex graphite shafts of that era.

I own one of those raylers. For you impossibly young guys, Betsy King could really play. I mean really play.

I had the opportunity to play with Ms. King in 2000 at Berkleigh CC. What a Treat! She was a "CLASS ACT"! This setup was the same she used at the time! She could play in deed! We played the course around 6400-6500! One of the smoothest swings I ever witnessed! Never missed her targets and putting was unbelievable! I ended shooting 76 that day and lost by 12! (Smooth and Charismatic 64) One of my cherished memories in my career!

Here is the text about the wedges that was cut off from the picture:
Wedges

I hit my sand wedge 85 yards [Titleist 55-degree Vokey model with lead tape], my middle wedge 100 yards [Titleist Vokey, 52 degrees bent to 51] and my pitching wedge 110 yards [all have regular-flex True Temper shafts].
The 975D was a full bore-through head so any shaft that you installed (if you did a full insertion) would play quite a bit stiffer than what was on the shaft. I'd wager that the R-flex she had in there played a shade less than X-flex.

When I played through bore Titleist drivers (975D included) I'd drill out the existing shaft about 1 3/4" then install the new shaft as per usual. It typically made the new shaft play true to flex with a 1/4" tipping. Some shafts had an extended tip section (my favorite in Titleist heads was the ZCOM TW64) that you install full bore and have it play true to flex.

I don't know how many people recall the EI70 in the D. It was re-bar.

Yeah, the 64 was pretty sweet to watch! There were two other very good players with us and better ball together we shot 66! That to me was the highlight in regards to scoring!

I remember the shaft well! I had the same shaft in my 975D in a stiff flex and it was re-bar! I had to work to make the shaft preform! I ended up going to a R-flex! If my memory serves me the shaft also had a lot of inconsistencies between them! (i.e. same shaft, same flex stamped, but yet the flexes were way of the charts on some of them R being S, S being X, S being regular, etc.)?

I remember how good Betsy King was in her prime. I don't think she got all the recognition that she deserved. I used to play with a set of Wilson Staff blades that looked just like the ones in her bag. And yes the R flex with appox 3.5 inches deep full insertion on those old bore thrus, meant a shaft that played pretty stout.
