Golf in South Africa? Africa Fairways tour operators

Has anyone taken a tour of golf courses in South Africa? Looking into a safari and golf package with an outfit called Africa Fairways. Would love any feedback before jumping in...

Seems pretty fantastic - safari drive one day, amazing golf the next.

if it were me, in my opinion, I would never do something like this - but it depends on what *you* want to do.

I love taking and planning a variety of golf trips and have been fortunate enough to do some amazing ones. But when we went to Africa it was about being in Africa. I was in Tanzania for 12 days and we snuck in a round at the end of the trip - literally the last day as we were on our way to the airport. But we went over there to be on safari, up before the sun every day, spending the whole day jostling around in a jeep, absolutely crashing at night. To say nothing of the toll the travel takes on you.

I would definitely recommend finding a cool course and playing while you are there. But being in Africa was the most amazing experience of my life and for anyone that goes I'd recommend you spend every minute doing stuff you cant do here - IE golf.

That's a good point. Our plan was always to do safari camps, but when golf gets thrown in the mix it's hard to say no.

Interesting perspective and I get it. If a life goal, for instance, is to golf in x countries, do it. Being able to look at any new country/culture based on a sport is a way to learn about the people. Im not a tourist per se so if I can golf in a new country I will.

My sons on the other hand love soccer and have been to friendlies and World Cup events in a number of different locales. They've learned so much through that passion.

It all depends on what you want to learn and how you want to enjoy your vaca.
