Club Repair - Jacksonville, FL

Does anyone know of a GOOD club repair person in Jacksonville, FL?

 

I have a set of brand new 2004 Miura Forged RAC CB's that I am installing Nippon Super Peening Blue's in and am looking for somone that really knows what they are doing. I would rather not go to "Master-Fit" as I have not been impressed with their work in the past.

 

Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I was going to mention Masterfit because it's the only club builder/repair I found besides EW. I went there looking for a new shat for my fairway wood. Similar to you, I was not that impressed. He had me hit a few into the net on the Flightscope and put the hard sell on a Attas Elements. I was hesitant, but gave it a shot and after a few weeks I realized that it didn't work in the X Hot Pro. I ended up having him put the Elements into a 910f 17* and it's been a good combo.

I think there are some good club builders in Florida, but you may need to travel.

Unfortunately you have slim pickins in Jax. I started doing all my own work because I couldn't find anyone I could trust in the area. I will let masterfit bend my clubs while I watch.

With that set I would go to someone you trust even if is out of the way.

I'm in Raleigh now but lived there my entire life and honestly I don't know of any. There is that place down by TPC not sure if they do club work or just fittings, I forget the name of it. It's at Sawgrass. Master fit and Lauden are both garbage. I would probably go see Chip at Usher Golf in Savannah, plus he sells the SPBs...

Google "the golf mechanic". He is in Florida and has done great work on my clubs. Give him a call, his name is Matt.

give bob matice in jax beach a try. his bro is len matice pga golfer. i have no issue with masterfit or lauden . both have been good to me but i do my own repair work mostly.

Mattiace Golf in Jax Beach is good.

I personally know Patrick Gileo at EW in Jax Beach, EW or Mattiace are actually only a couple store away from each other, and he does excellent work.

I also know people who have had work done by Alan at EW Butler/I95 and have had several club building convos with him and been very impressed.

I had buddy take his clubs to Mattiace a few years ago and he didn't even turn the ferrules, maybe things have changed or maybe someone else did the work for him at shop but it was awful. He used to caddy at Pablo where I caddied as a kid when they first opened, he's a nice guy, so like I said maybe someone else did the work in the shop...

I definitely recommend Mattiace; I was actually just there the other day having my 714 AP2's flattened. Bob is really a great guy and I only have great things to say about him and his work.

Masterfit is not worth it.... I have been preaching for years that Jacksonville needed a strong club building company here.

The element shaft masterfit pushes is 2-3 years old I believe

Yes he had someone do his work...The guy with Edwin Watts(Rob) in the same shopping center is good but you have to stay on top of him to get quality. Just too busy
