I will take a couple pictures of the soles. Leading edge isn't too sharp, but not as rounded as something like a Bridgestone iron. Sole is fairly rounded so the bounce is probably a bit higher than a standard set. The lofts are a bit stronger than I am used to so I hit the PW about 5 yards or so further than my old PW (46* vs old one @ 48*). Apparently the shop for Vulcan is located in IL, but I haven't been able to contact anyone via email. I may try calling the number on their website to see if I can get anyone. Would love to know more info about these heads. For $55 shipped, there is not a better deal to be had anywhere.

As far as I can tell Vulcan is out of business and has been for a bit. Sorry if I'm wrong about this. I think the person that is selling these just has access to some old stock he is selling off. As you can see from my other post these heads are from 2005 2006. I would also like to know more about them. Information is hard to find.

The heads seem heavy to me as well did you weigh them? Is the weight consistent across all the heads?

I believe they are out of business in terms of manufacturing. From some research, they appear to possibly still have a shop where they do club fitting and lessons. This may have since gone under as well, but the location still comes up on google searches. It takes some maneuvering on the street view level, but it looks like they may still have a storefront.

I live about a mile from the Geneva location, it has been closed for at least a couple of years now.

I bought a set of these APH-1 today. They appear to be a good overall set. But I usually play a combo set and my initial guess is that my other long irons will be more forgiving than these, and my other short irons might be more playable. But worth a try at the 55 price.

I tried out my PW with an S300 and it spins like crazy. Picked up a set of Rifle 6.5 shafts that I am going to tip about 3/8" tonight and install when I get home. Hoping to get them all finished this weekend and play a round with them Monday.

Thanks CallawayKid38. Let us know what you think. I'm still looking for shafts that are not to pricy. Found a set of Steel Fibers Graphite but waited too long and someone snapped them up. I really like the look of this head and I think it will be a good set.

I bought a set, but have only installed one in the 7 iron so far. I used a DG X100 shaft. Only hit a few balls with it but this cheap experiment felt surprisingly good :P The head felt pretty good. I doubt they will get much play time, but I´m just enjoying the process winter time =) GL.

I have 3 rounds on my set. These are the best set I have ever built. A
ll my friends have hit them on the range and they love them. They are now prowling the Web trying to find the heads.

Anyone know the difference between the XDC3 heads and the APH-1 heads? Also looking for specs like bounce. I'm a digger and concern about the turf interaction so if you have experience please share.

From what I can see the main difference was the milling on the faces. I had the APH-1, but I hit them too high so I gave them to my brother. He has never spin irons before like he does with these. I am a digger as well, but had no issues with the turf interaction. Somewhat blunted leading edge along with a rounded sole. No where near as forgiving as your G30's, but more than a blade. They are also forged 8620 so not as soft as most other irons and have more of a clicky sound to them at impact. Not a bad iron at all and you can't beat the price on a new set of heads.

Hi all. Sorry to jump start an old thread, but I use a set of Vulcan forged blades exactly like the ones here. I never realized they were so obscure, I thought they made a bunch of them. I have a 1 (had to order it), and 3-PW on 1x stiff steel shafts. I got them at Golfsmith used a number of years ago, and love the way they feel.

I still use the Vulcan hybrid (Z3) set I bought when I lived in Hoffman Estates (near the factory west of Chicago in St Charles, IL) . I also have their "game improvement" hollow irons and I mix up the sets depending on the course, my mood and the wind.

I generally use my Adams A4 hybrid set and a home-made driver or an Adams driver.

I have owned a Vulcan driver and liked it but my hand-made one is easier to hit straight.

My wife has a set of the LUV's which are beautiful and easy to hit but they now stay in the closet since she gave up the game.
