There is no real specific grinds for his wedges other than the toe sweep 59* one. He does appear to have a dual sole grind, but of course it is a special grind for him that won't be available for retail.

Merry X-mas to me! I know what I'm getting with my Nike gift card. Those look like my original Lunar volt but wider. I like how there lower to the ground then the LC2's.

Course: Congressional

Situation: Two months earlier, McIlroy had led the Masters at the turn in the final round but crumbled after a poorly hit tee shot to open his back nine. Now in the very next major, he again led at the turn when standing on the 10th tee box.

 

RORY SAYS: “I always think back to the 6-iron at Congressional on the 10th hole on Sunday because coming off the Masters and having everything go wrong on the 10th hole on Sunday, there was something I needed, to get past the 10th and 11th hole. Even though I had a big lead I needed to play the shot. Once you got past 10 and 11, you were fine because there’s no real trouble, there was no disaster.

"To hit a shot like that on 10 after doing what I did on 10 at Augusta, it really meant a lot to me. I was probably feeling more pressure over that shot than I should’ve been feeling because I had a big lead.

"But I think back to Augusta and how everything went wrong at 10. It was a big deal to me, and I hit a great shot, hit it stiff, made birdie and ended up winning by a lot.”

Result: McIlroy shot a final-round 69 and won by eight shots over Jason Day to claim the first major of his career.
