You're going to be flirting with the 60s here pretty soon if you keep this up. Nice work.

I dream about that day
Congrats on the success. What part do you think made the most difference in your game? I.e. short game, ball striking, etc
Ballstriking without a doubt. I had a decent shortgame and was always a decent putter but before the lessons with monte I couldn't get the ball near or on the green on the second and third shots.

I'll never get over all of the things I can do with a club, the thing people are the most impressed with is shank on command.
Wait...we never saw THAT at NJ2 !!! Might have to file a claim with Paypal. ;)

On a positive note, shot 81 yesterday after playing dismally the first few rounds with "thumbs pointing at ground" on the backswing and new set up being further from the ball with more bend at the hips versus the waist. Ball striking MUCH improved now and the tip regarding the complete follow through finishing the putting stroke (left hand low) has proven pure genius.

Sorry for the slight threadjack, but wanted to validate Monte's competent command of the golf swing, and the game in general.

BTW - great 73 ! As the friends at my club would say, "Make sure you post it!"

Not a thread jack at all! It's funny, If you didn't know that what you're working on is correct, the initial results would scare you away. But Monte has told you and showed you it's right, so you stick with it and then it just clicks.

Chris - all of us are envious of your improvement, but I'm most envious of your schedule and how much golf you play ! Keep up the good work, Monte is a

Was able to get out and play before I head to work. I was even par through 14 holes :). Putting was spot on, although my lag putting needs some practice. Anything 8 feet and in was spot on.

I stuck with my 3deep for most of the tee shots and found the fairway as a result.

Question for you gear heads: I play a Bio Cell Pro set at 10*. When I play it like that it fans right on me even on good swings. When I fiddled around and set it to 8.5, I hit it dead straight, but it didn't have enough spin to carry correctly. Is the fade bias of the driver hurting me?

Thanks! I'm very fortunate to be able to get out before and after work. Pretty much when I'm not working I'm at the course. I still put in 50+ hours a week but seeing as its at a restaurant I work a little later than most.

It's probably like a subconscious thing where I'm sure you know having it set at 8.5 the face is physically more open, but you respond in a way to prevent those right shots. You could try a ball change like prov1 instead of x, but having " too low spin" isn't exactly a bad problem either if your flight is still decent. Probably losing a little distance on soft courses but gaining a little on firm ones. I'm all about the whole fade bias concept with drivers because there's basically no miss worse in my opinion than a hard hook. I play a stupid high draw normally but when that thing overdraws, it gets a long way away from your target in a hurry.

Excited for your next year, really think you'll be gunning for a + handicap. Will be fun to watch.

When I say not enough spin I mean it just drops out of the sky.

I'd love to get to a +. The way I've been hitting it I know I can someday.

Swing looks good. Just be diligent on shallowing the shaft.
Too steep or just in general?
With this swing pattern you have, it's what you have to monitor,

All "tips" are welcome. Instruction not desired.

The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

Shot a 79 today. 39 on the front, 40 on the back. Not my best ballstriking day, but I putted incredibly. I had two swings that found the hosel that cost me some strokes. Other than that I'm happy with how it went. I just need some more practice with the driver. Similar results with my Superfast TP. Indian, not the arrow.

How's the pull fade coming?
I'm really liking it. I can aim down the left side of the fairway and go at it hard. If I leave the face a little open its in the middle of the fairway, if I hit it dead on, it's on the left side, center cut.

I'm finding I can go after more pins. Left side I aim right at it. Right side, a little right. I don't really have a left miss any more.

So what's the miss? A slight overfade or a litte pull?
Slight overfade. My irons are 2 degrees flat from Cobra standard and wedges are 3 flat. Basically anti left. If I pull it a bit, it seems to fade even more and still wind up on target. Worst miss is if I baby it a little then flare it out right if my hips get spinny
