Where to go play?

6 or 8 of us go away during February. We've been to San Diego and Palm Springs. San Diego once and Palm Springs twice. We really like Palm Springs because of the reasonably short distance you have to travel to get to the courses and the traffic isn't bad at all, unlike San Diego! I am the one that books the golf and airline tickets as well. I've decided that the guys may like a change of scenery, not that Palm Springs is getting old, by any means! I'm sure that we can find plenty of nice courses where ever we go but my main concern in weather. I know dealing with mother nature has no guarantees, but there are definitely places that we can go during February that will almost assure us of good, warm weather, with an emphasis on warm! So, here's my question to you guys: Leaving South Carolina and North Carolina out of the mix (too cold), where would you go during February in the US?

We've already been to Palm Springs this year. I've been looking and South Florida is on the "give it a second look" list.

Could you tell me where you guys played in San Diego and which places you would recommend? I'm going to a business meeting in San Diego end of April and a collegue and I want to squeeze in a couple of rounds at least. Torrey Pines is more than we are looking to pay, did you play any more reasonably priced courses? Thanks.

We played Eagles Crest, Maderas, The Vineyards, Rancho Bernardo, Pala Mesa and a couple of others that really don't stand out. Out of these I've listed I would definitely play Maderas, but it might be as expensive as Torrey Pines, not sure though. With exception to Maderas, the others I've listed are middle of the road courses. Just leave early because traffic out there is absolutely ridiculous. Our tee times were in the 9:00 range and we were having to leave around 7:30 just to get there by 8:30, and we were only going maybe 15-25 miles to play!
