For you so. cal peeps just wondering what your experience has been with the Roger Dunn golf chain. Looking to buy a new set of irons and wondering what you guys feel about the chain

Roger Dunn Golf imo is the best golf retailer in So. Cal. They have a very generous return policy which is one can return any golf club purchased for FULL CREDIT and exchange for another club/set. One has 90 days to do this and what's great about this policy is that they let you do this a total of 3 times. So let's say you just bought a set of $1000 TP or Callaway irons and you can't hit em. They'll take them back winthin 90 days and you can exchange them for whatever that's inside the store. Well worth shopping there.

best golf retailer IMO. Definitely better than the any other golf store including the Golfsmith. I go to a superstore in Newport area. Checkout some of the used one's. The price is fantastic compare to other golf stores. Some of the used one's are almost new, but the price is much lower than the new one's.

You pay full retail to take advantage of the returns.

 

I used to not shop of Roger Dunns cause they do charge more than mom & pop shops, but in the end you get your money's worth because of their generous return policy.

 

I had a driver that i've exchanged 9 times and everytime got full credit for it. The 3x exchange is their policy but depending on the kid that does the exchanges, they usually don't care and so i kept on exchanging it for a brand new driver. Mind you, these where brand new, never been hit drivers.

 

They're the best in town. I'd recommend them to all my buddies.

Years ago I played with a guy in my business that went and bought a new driver, played it multiple times-maybe a dozen, and returned it at 89 days for the same one, same shaft, 1 degree more loft, and then did the same with that. Quite a wanker in my opinion but they are that generous with their policy. Although they do have the best return policy around know what you're after before going in. Sales staff will be helpful but can also streer you in directions you may not have intended to go.

Any of you SoCal folks find that some managers get a little jittery when you try to return a club within 90 days?

 

Not at all.

The manger and workers at my Roger Dunn actively encourage people to take advantage of the return policy. They have been all smiles each time I returned something.

I wouldn't get fit for clubs there, but I do buy clubs there.

Same here. Haven't had any problems returning except for the one in North Hollywood. The manager there seems to be more strict and does give you the looks when you exchange them. Other branches are a lot friendlier.
