Reason,

this Wager has been a blessing. I've saved money, strengthened bonds, forged friendships, and had time to plot my next purchases. PD's future is filled with really cool putters.

Conrad,

I know that the operator has to make the putts, but he is going to be looking down at some bad arse putters. I'll let my eyes linger over the head and ignore the ball as it travels to the hole.

Pigs,

10 weeks to go. Do you have the intestinal fortitude to resist the devils dirty work (aka - the cheapo filipo wedge bin)?

To all those who chime in and/or are following. Thank you for supporting 'the Wager boys'. We're making considerable progress.
LOL PD. I know I'm gonna get another putter. I want the Machine
and I know it will inspire me to look down at it but now I also want
a set of S55 irons and.....well, you know how it goes. Decisions
Decisions Decisions. I really want a #9 style putter; seems the guys
with left eye dominance do better without putter offset and I have an
anser style putter now and should switch at least to a #9. I used to
have a Scotty Del Mar (#9 style) but the face was too hot and I was
knocking putts way past the hole. I do better with insert putters on
distance control.

Hey, you guys may be some of the very few NOT watching the
National Championship Football Game tonight! After all, it's not
for the Canadian National Championship, lol. :)
Conrad,

Enter a wager for 8 months. The purchases are an easier sell to the Mrs. I just need to ensure that I don't go spastic when the wager ends and blow my wad in one fell swoop.

As for the National Championship game . . . I've got my laptop, a drink, and some chips at the ready. Ohio State is up by 11 and appears poised to capture the title. Will look good for the Big 10 if they do. Still a 1/2 to go and Oregon can rack up some points in short order. Should be a interesting 2nd half.
Maybe I'll get in the next wager..but for the record I have not
bought one club since you guys started this one. I have some
serious pent up demand issues brewing, lol

So you ARE watching the game! Remember what Oregon did in
the 2nd half to Florida State. Appears this game is far from over!
I would like to see Ohio State win just so Bama will have lost to
the eventual winner. :)

I'm a Big Ten guy, so I'm happy for Ohio State. Still, I've pulled for Oregon each time they had a shot at the big win, and would have been okay with them winning it all as well. :)

now. Ohio State is a much better team than people realized.

Well I'm prepping everything and checking numerous times on everything before I do any actual work here lol.

PD, how much do you take off with the knife before sanding when doing tip prep?? Just scrape the paint off or ate we talking like peeling a carrot?? I'm thinking more like the first option??

Well I either ****ed this up royally or the guy sent me the wrong Tip size. I'm not sure which to believe yet. I just couldn't get it all the way in, and now I can't even twist it to line it up because it's so tightly in there ffs. Now I'm gonna have to take it in and have them separated and get another proper size tip :(

Pigs,

If the pencil (from the tape to the butt end) is a measure of the hosel depth then I'd strip the tip of the shaft to at least that length (if not a 1/4 cm more). After I remove the shaft paint (with a razor blade on a 45* angle) I lightly sand until the graphite has a dull appearance. A small amount of graphite dust is created so wear a mask. Avoid over sanding as you don't want the graphite fibers to fray. You're just abrading the surface to ensure a proper bond.

Look forward to the finished results

Exactly why college football needed to pursue a playoff format. I wouldn't be opposed to a six team playoff either.

I'm a Michigan fan who loves a healthy rivalry, but will root for a conference opponent if they are in a big game. I believe it reflects well on the Big 10. Other teams should take notice. Crazy to think that Ohio State looked that good with their 3rd string quarterback. A wealth of riches.

As a Bama fan you obviously understand.

Just a thought, that shaft is jammed in there tighter than a...i dont even know what lol. What you figure would happen if I tried to use is as is?? Figure the tip would just break off?? Some clubs must have a shallower bore right, similar to the amount I got this one stuck in there?? :D

Oh and my pencil measurement was the hosel depth WITH the ferral included.

For your safety don't hit a shot with the shaft as is. You're just inviting disaster.

That's what I figured, I'll just drop it off at Golf Central tomorrow and have them separated the two pieces properly. Hopefully they have a proper tip in stock and can just throw it on while there. Though it will most likely be $25/$35 just for the tip :(

Also, I wonder if the shaft and tip are a match, but there is a taper in the adaptor that is preventing full insertion. Is the pencil the same diameter as the shaft tip?

As you've stated, all else fails take the shaft to a professional.

It probably would work, but I'd be concerned about the resin/graphite possibly drawing water. I don't know if it's possible or probable, but I'd personally just have a builder look at it.

I'm thinking they sent me a .335 tip and not a .350 tip. Seems to be the simplest answer, and the one yesterday went on nicely and I was able to twist it afterwards to aline the shaft the way I wanted. That was not the case today, thatthings is Jammed on there good, I wouldn't be surprised tonsee it shoot across the room when they put in on a shaft puller tomorrow lol.

That was 30/60 epoxy, that baby is fully cured by this time. It's gonna take the full 300* of heat or more and some serious force to pop that baby off. I kind of "tapped" it on a floor a "few" times in an attempt to get it on the rest of the way :D

Well I finished it off "for now" to a playing length of 46" and a total weight of 314g. She's long and heavy right now. But just wiggling it I can feel how much stiffer it feels compared to the other two, I can't wait to try it out once I get this tip issue sorted out. Thanks for all the help everyone I really appreciate all of it, you guys are awesome. I can't wait to get some results to share now :)

I'll check the sw estimate in a minute, according to the chart MSOI sent me a link to it should be around D6/D7 at this length right now.

Pigs,

I didn't realize you had epoxied the shaft into place and it had cured. I thought it was a dry fit that was stuck on there really good.

Did you dry fit the shaft and adaptor prior to adding the epoxy?
