Did TGC dump Kelly Tilghman ?

You guys are just teasing. I bet she just has the week off. Hopefully she got the boot and has been sent back to the 19th hole. I have stated many times before how bad I think she is, so if this is true you know I will jumping for joy. Just can not stand her. She is horrible the match play when Tiger lost to Ohern was her worst performance. Just horrible. IMHO she SUCKS hopefully this rumor is true.

 

Will be shocked if she actually hooked up with Faldo, I share the same thaught as littlepingman. Not that there is anything wrong with that. If Littlepingman makes such a bold accusation I think he should back it up with some pictures.

 

Since the begining I just could not fathom why they would not get Tirico. The Faldo/Tirico thing worked fine before at ABC why did they go with Tillman? Made no sense.

 

I'll bet Tirico makes big bucks on ABC. I don't think TGC can afford him. Especially after paying Faldo whatever he's getting.

The Faldo/Tillghman will most likely rage on until one or the other is taken off the coverage.

 

I was open to them at the start, but as the season has progressed, they just are not cutting it for me. Faldo is a major winner - so what? He tends to use those goofy voices (annoying), and each week manages to mention the old "visualizing the shot" comment. John MacEnroe(sp.) was a great (though flawed) tennis player, but I found him an awful announcer. Kelly just isn't cut out for the booth period. And the Tiger worship by the two is getting old fast.

 

IMHO, Frank Nobilo and Dottie Pepper - if they need a woman in the booth - would be miles better. Nobilo is no nonsense, and Dottie is just plain better - hands down. I would accept almost any of the analysts working for TGC over the Faldo/Tillghman combination....

If she looked like Beyonce, I might be able to cope with her.

 

Put some hotties on there. Much easier to deal with the bad commentary that way.

 

Faldo must be desperate if he hooked up with Kelly. Yuck!

I dont really know how to say this but I thought she wasnt really into ummm... guys? I like hot chicks on TV. I dont care if they say anything at all. With a mostly male audience they need to spice it up a bit. Trampolenes and bikini women. Part Man show and part golf. Thats how I role! G ;)

Let's stay on topic regarding whether she is still the lead tower personality, and her ability and performance in that role. This is not a crack on Kelly thread; besides that in bad taste.

I digitally record tournaments that I don't want to miss, and then speed through TGC broadcasts and commercials, especially avoiding any suspect interviews. If Johnny Miller was commentating though, I would feel like I was missing something interesting. Faldo is trying way too hard to be entertaining, but is still pretty informative. Kelly is talented and simply better at other things on the TGC, especially 19th hole and Academy segments- nothing wrong with that. Frank Nobilo is always a pleasure to listen to, and his teaching segments on the course are great. He would be great in the booth. Dottie is excellent on LPGA broadcasts but seems less comfortable with PGA commentary. I wish TGC would get back to more Academy type stuff. Club building shows, launch monitor fitting shows, and a golf club performance tweaking series would be welcome. We also need more original personal lessons shows. What's in the bag segments are so simplistic, they almost seem like they're targeted at NON-golfers- what's up with that? We need a real club ho host getting out there in the trenches and tour vans and showing us the real stuff. My 2 cents... :)

I had heard her say in a interview on the TGC.com that she was taking a couple of weeks off and is going to be back at it after the WGC CA tournament. They signed her for the year and I am sure they are not going to demote her just 3 months in. She is definately not the worst announcer that I have heard (Lanny Watkins) but definately not the best (Johnny Miller) IMHO. Although I must admit it crossed my mind after I saw her on Golf Central all week. If they did make a move, why would they go with Rich Lerner?????? That is definately taking a step back.

 

TGC might want to work Charles Davis (grey goose) into that role for next year. I heard him do some College Football during bowl season and he impressed me.

Agreed Charles should get a try at it. I think Stinna Sterberg would do better than KT, she knows equipment, articulate, can play and isnt too hard on the eyes!

One can only hope. Any of the female announcers run circles around her. Dotty, Judy, Kay, Beth, Rosie, Mary etc. etc. Of course they have knowledge from the LPGA. It is funny that Nick is hideous when paired with her but very interesting when paired with anyone else.

Anyone calling golf wants to know what Tiger is doing on the course, they want us to know as well, and I am fine with that. Except Kelly just goes insane when Tiger makes a 2 foot par putt. Give me a break. If Tiger played before coverage starts, show a few times. She is hell bent on putting Tiger right in our faces. It is almost like a school gril crush; I cant stand it. I also agree that if they want a woman, get Dottie Pepper or if she's healthy, Judy Rankin.
