$550 / year for a municipal walking pass across three courses. Good from March 1 to November 30, yet more like 8 months in a season. So answering the OP's question, less than $100/month as I rarely will take a cart - maybe four times a season.

What do you typically pay each month to play golf, not counting new equipment or betting or food?
I'm talking green fees, cart fees, membership fees, direct costs to play.

FYI, I usually walk, and play a local military base course for $15.50 per round, 1 time per week, so I'm at $62.00 per month.

What do you guys pay?

$600 per month. ~6 month season. Plus special assessments annually in the $300-$500 range.

$810 monthly. All in. Includes everything. All carts, locker in locker room. No food minimum. No tee times. 100 members. pro vs on the excellent practice facility changed out twice per year.

While it's a lot per month, if golf is your only hobby / recreation like it is for me, it's a small price to pay for a place to escape a few times a week IMHO.

I joined a private club this year with 36 holes and a great deal: about $350 a month in dues, no cart fees for 6 months. Another $20 for range balls. I play on average 15 x month, so works out to $24/round at an exclusive club. After 6 months, cart fees are $20/round.

I have a friend who tells his wife he needs $1,000/month for golf.

$110/month unlimited golf, cart, and range balls and a $10 charge to play the sister club. That is a weekday membership as I work weekends. I average at least 100 holes per week lately. I already have 90 holes in this week and 2 more days to go.

EJ Mac,

I'm in Tulsa. Where are you playing? That's a pretty good deal. Broken Arrow Golf & Athletic? Tulsa City courses (Page Belcher/Mohawk)?

Getting back into golf this year and playing with someone I got into the game.

He had hip replacement surgery so we can only play 9 holes or so a week. $15 for walking/$25 with a cart(Course about 6200 yards, not a pitch and putt). I hit 2 buckets a week, about $6 for a medium bucket.

So if I get to play once a week about $27-37 a week so $108 to $148 a month depending on how lazy or active I'm feeling.

Got my wife clubs this year and trying to ease her into it...hopefully the number will go up next year :D

wow this thread made me realize how much i am paying for golf... monthly due is 350 (will go up to 480 next yr). 2 rounds outside of the club is about 120. so $470 a month. I only play 6-8 rounds a month.

It's quite expensive to play here in the bay area. Even with local residence rate, it's still at least $70 a round on a decent course... With the real estate prices here, maybe i should move to somewhere else.

Never really thought about it prob 3-400 in summer and 4-600 in winter. Usually mid-higher end public tracks more often than not range balls included with fees

During the summer usually 6-8 rounds a month winter closer to 4 a month

I live in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and am about halfway through my assignment here. My company has a great deal worked out with the Local Country Club here and we only pay $14.00 a day for as many holes you can squeeze in. Thing is it gets up to 120 degrees some days so it can be quite miserable in the afternoons. I still manage to play 12-15 rounds a month over 7-8 days so roughly $100 a month. The Club here is surprisingly beautiful with great conditions considering it's in the middle of the desert. I'll find time to post pictures on a thread.

Fairways and Greens!
