I like a wedge that has some perimeter weighting ( I am a low single digit handicap). I have never been a fan of the straight up blade style wedges. I have found they are great for chips but longer shots really suffer on forgiveness. I usually play a wedge that matches my set of irons but have gotten away from that because my current irons set does not offer matching wedges. I have some XG eye2 wedges right now but I need to get a different shaft and lie angle that are a better fit. I have heard great things about both of these wedges but I wonder which offers the most forgiveness on full and longer pitch shots.

Nah.. I have an awesome set of custom fit Wishons.

Have you usually gone with whatever stock shafts/setup are in the wedges, or have they been custom like your irons?
Just thinking of say the typical stock S200 that comes in a lot of wedges... maybe that is more the issue than the head design?
Wedges are heavy (high MOI) and shortest clubs in the bag (easiest center face contact) so I think the "blade wedge" really isn't all that difficult to hit compared to a CB wedge. Most CB wedges have wider soles compared to their blade counterpart, and perhaps more bounce depending on what you go with. Those factors will help the average player a lot more than small cavities on a wedge, IMO.

I played ping g10 wedges and before that I played the i5 wedges both that matched my set. Now I have some great Wishon irons I have matching wedges made and they really spin the ball but I think on full shots they leave some on the table compared to what I am used to. I put some xg eye2 wedges in the bag and they are very easy to hit. The eye2s are just a little to different looking and it can get in my head compared to the rest of my set which has little offset and look very traditional at address.
