What is the stupidest designed putter ever made In your opinion?

Playing with someone yesterday that had a :russian_roulette: doc 17..

Its hidious..not to mention it being as big as my toaster..

What do you guys think are stupid design?

Odyssey 3ball SRT is Huge! and looks like it shouldnt fit in your bag but having had a try of it it works really well but putters really shouldnt be the biggest club in your bag

I saw a putter a few years ago that was in the shape of a foot (with toes). That putter was hideous.

Tear Drop - Whatever happened to the "roll face" technology? Stupid by default because it didn't work I guess.

 

Ping 1-A or ping and ping - pretty gimmicky.

 

Not to offend anyone....but any long putter in my opinion. Proven effective though so they kind of pass the test.

I tried one of these at a second-hand golf shop last summer, and could not believe that anyone had ever thought putting with a really, really low-lofted titanium driver was a good idea. Just not a good design.

I'm sure many dis-agree with me, but the futura phantom, the huge mallet putters. They were so bulky, easy to line up. But the face just felt oversized, and the millings were not that profound on them either. Just felt very bulky, and no feel. IMHO, they were the worst putter scotty has every came out with. But the mini(smaller) mallet was better, felt better anyways.

Have you tried this putter before? It is so easy to make putts with. Don't knock it until you try it. Just b/c the putters are big, doesn't mean they suck.

I used to work at Heinz and a guy a worked with used one of these. I know it's just a novelty, but this gets my vote.

 

 

 

As far as a putter that is actually meant to be used, I have to agree with any of the Ping Doc putters. You'd have to hire a shrepa to carry it around the course.

Yes Very very very real! LOL I had a buddy who was a Callaway nut and he had 2 of those! I don't know why but he used it they sucked 1st off...anyways I tried it and felt 100% sure it earned all the ridicule it got! Terribly ugly and not very good a putter IMO.

haha...One of my friends threw his cameron into a pond. My other friend dove in to fish it out. Then they fought over who it belonged to afterwards!

I'd be more concerned about bent shafts than broken ones, or even damage to the finish on the shaft. I've never broken a putter out of rage--drivers, yes, I confess--but accidents happen, and I don't understand why their product development team would overlook that fact.

 

It's too bad, too. I've tried the Retro a few times in the store, and really liked it, but can't justify spending $250+ on a putter that eliminates the possibility of a very simple, commonplace repair.

Worst forgiveness on off-center strikes EVER. On the plus side, if you don't hit it on the center of the face, you miss completely, and can argue it was a practice stroke.

 

Has anyone tried a toe-shafted putter? I don't want to call it out as a 'stupid design', because I've never tried one, but I can't imagine I could keep the face square with one of these without totalling overhauling my stroke...

I'm sure someone in here can remember what they're called. I worked in a nevada bob's who had a deal with them so I remember trying so hard to hawk these pieces of absolute feces.

That happened to me too. My buddy threw a club in the pond (1993 TM BurnerPlus w/ purple and white FlexTwist shaft) and said whoever gets it can have it...I got it out and he was acting like a ***** and wanted it back so I threw it back further into the pond. I was going to give it back to him in the first place, but he was being an Word not allowed.

I'd love to see someone attempt an uphill 60 footer on slow greens with that Dr. Feelgood. Good luck hitting the face! I thought it was only a training aid at first, but I guess not.

 

But remember, putting is the only thing that kept Jack Hamm off the PGA Tour. So where is he now that he has this great revolutionary putter? Didn't see him on the money list this year...

Not only is it hideous, but also illegal under USGA rules. The heel-toe (as it is... :russian_roulette: ) measurement is far exceeded by the front-back measurement. So all you playas droppin' 64's with the help of these puppies, stop right now! :russian_roulette:
