True Temper's new "AMT" Dynamic Gold iron shafts

I got a set of T-MB with DG AMT x100 TI 3-W SSx1 and buttrimmed to standard length.

 

Due to a miscommunication by me, only the 9-iron head has the AMT 8-iron shafts since the set is supposed to be softstepped. The P and W have the 9-iron shaft which means they they are "straight in" since TT doesn't have a P-shaft in this series.

 

So to "fix" the issue I spoke with my Titleist contact if I could buy two 8-iron shafts and replace the 9-iron shafts in the P and W head (actually asked for four since I have two TVD Wedges I want to fit with it as well) to make the entire set soft stepped, but according to my contact it's not possible to buy only 8-iron shafts separatly and not part of a set!?

 

Is this really the case?

 

If that is the case, what would you recommend me to do?

Swing science is where I got mine through my account. From my conversation they do not have individual shafts other than wedge shafts at this time.

I have only seen a 37" shaft used as the 9/P.

 

My question is if I only play 5-PW does AMT really make that much difference other than weight? I will almost never have a 4-iron or lower in the bag.

I just picked up my xforged 13 from the builder and they are awesome. They were moi built with DGTI AMT x100. it was a pretty windy day but I will say the long irons 4-5 really launch nice easier and with a better trajectory then standard x100 and the short irons feel great with that classic DG feel and trajectory.

 

I'm not sure what true temper did to the profile but they feel better (smoother) then classic DG. If you haven't tried this shaft and you like DG I'd find some to try, especially the long irons.

I was recently fit for these matched up with 716 AP1s. Same clubs, 5-PW. I think they feel great. The 5i just feels amazing.

I have tried many shafts and bounced between x and s flexes. I put a set of S400 AMT is my Cobra blades and couldn't be happier.

That's not bad considering the relative newness of theshaft to market and the inflation on shaft prices these days.

I put a set into MP-5s, no issues. Normal taper tips.

I had these in the s300 on ap2's 716 and 7-pw felt great but the 4-6 were whippy and difficult to control. They did get the ball up into the air but produced lots of side spin. Im not sure if the weight change affects the stiffness of the club but it certainly felt this way.

That's what I'm thinking, put it into a 3 T-MB

That's the best part of our VWT (Variable Wall Technology). Allows us to create an ascending weight design with no swingweight variation when using a standard head weight progression. Great question.

 

So if building a set with the AMT, you should do so with the same swing weight throughout the set?
